2024 Fixture

The worst fixturing that I can remember. I have no issue with the game against Gold Coast. But Carlton 5 days later WTF!!

This tops us playing St. Kilda at some feral suburb in Adelaide. It would like having to play against St. Kilda at Moorabin.
In fairness Norwood is a beautiful suburb and a brilliant oval.
If you can jag a ticket it will be a great atmosphere.

AFL seriously it isn't rocket science.
Rich v Carl play in RD2 (thurs).
I get some are saying a five day break isn't an issue these days, but when the team your playing the following round plays the night before in the same state, then that is a bit of an issue gives an unfair one day advantage for recovery and getting back in your own city.

Carlton and Brisbane should've played on the same day as Richmond and Gold Coast, so neither team gets a slight advantage.

2024 Opening Round

Thursday, March 7
Sydney v Melbourne, SCG, 7.20pm AEDT

Friday, March 8
Brisbane v Carlton, Gabba, 6.50pm AEST (7.50pm AEDT)

Saturday, March 9
Gold Coast v Richmond, Heritage Bank Stadium, 3.20pm AEST (4.20pm AEDT)

Greater Western Sydney v Collingwood, Giants Stadium, 7.30pm AEDT

Full round one to commence on Thursday, March 14

Who reckon's Yze will leave players out due to such a short turn around to the game against Carlton, coming back from the Amazon

and he's a Richmond supporter!!

What a joke. Just call it the Gift Round to the non-aussie rules states including 2 plastic made teams.

See how much of a Richmond supporter he is when our players front the tribunal this year.

Diilon: “The four match-ups are big, with four of our biggest supported Victorian clubs travelling north, and we look forward to starting our season with real momentum before we head into a blockbuster round of matches in round 1.

“Given this weekend also falls on the Labour Day long weekend in Victoria it presents a terrific opportunity for fans to travel north to support their club and enjoy an extended interstate break.'

That long weekend is already locked away for a lot of families for a late summer getaway etc. The arrogance of the AFL that thinks we will travel irregardless.
I won't be watching this game (I'll be at Golden Plains Festival with my partner and kids).

DO the blues fly back friday night?
I doubt they can fly that late, but we should get back after our game. So both teams are in their own beds on saturday night
(Or others depending on the fruits of the Tunnel )

The gather round ,home and away doesn't count as a home game as far as I know as we have been named the home team 2 years in a row.

We all know that the afl is extremely vindictive as tigers playing in the very hottest time in Queensland's then given a 5 day break against Carlton is just pure downright, take this benny Gale.
Afl are just thukwits ,pure thukwits.

As crap as the fixture no doubt will be for the Tigers.... I don't wanna hear any excuses from the club.
(Publicly, no... privately, go your hardest.)

We all hate Marvel, but saying so publicly made Dimma and the club look like sooks and I reckon instilled a losing mindset within the playing group.

We need to rebuild some resilience, so apologies for the clichè, but it's anywhere, anytime!

DiFancy referring to the second round as the first. What a bunch of fwts.

This could be the season I switch to synchronised swimming.

More transparent and a fairer administration. Less oxygen thieves.

Season hasn't even started and I'm baffled by the decisions these morons make. Almost done with footy

So we're playing Carlton in rnd 2 on a Thursday night every year now?
The only reason members have swallowed this yearly scheduled Thursday game is because it opens the season.
There's nothing traditional about it if it's round 2.
'Round zero' is round 1. The AFL is pi##ing on our backs & telling us it's raining.
