2024 Fixture

As @Ian4 said a couple of posts back, it is $ driving this.

And crowd numbers don't get you $.

TV ratings get you $.
Don’t we rate? We’d get more viewers in a slot other than 3 pm Sunday afternoon. Like Ian4 says the entire round is a pointless waste of time and a shameless grab for cash.

Absolute disgrace
Not going
We get 10k to practice matches
What a bunch of *smile*
So we dont get to play them on the G by looks of it?

Will get them at the Dump as per usual.

Oh well I was fully expecting us to get the Crows or the Kochies this year for Reach Around, so I guess it could've been worse.

They'll probably have us back there in Adelaide the following week as an away game to one of em, or there the week before.

Double header guaranteed.
My bet would be after round 15 to bend us over.
Adelaide in Adelaide then Sydney in Sydney.
I was going to drive over but not now.

At least the haters are happy.

How ridiculous is this! And another team that plays in “round zero” will need to have a bye as well in round 2. Better not be us:cautious:

It hasn’t even started and already the season makes absolutely no sense. How hard is this to work out. 22 rounds. Every team plays each other once, then fill in the remaking rounds with double ups. It’s not that difficult to get right, unless you start throwing in gimmicky crap like Gather Round and Round Zero. Things that no one asked for or wanted.

At the moment
It's GC round 1 before round 1
Carlton round 2 but round 1
.....
Round 4 which could be round 5 Stkilda @ Norwood Oval.

Open Round…..GC Away
Rnd 1 (or is that 2 🙄)……The Scum Away (I think)
Rnd 4 …..StKilda Home …but really Away

3 of our first 4 games away…two of which are interstate ……….the pineapples are in season early this year

I seriously hope we *smiling* smash GC……No Mercy!!!

Someone is getting paid big dollars to come up with this crap.

They’re doing this to supposedly get interest in the northern states. Considering that people in the southern and western states appear to be totally disenchanted with the concept, I can’t see non football supporters showing more interest than they currently have.

Hang on… we’ve got a 5 day break before playing Carlton on the Thursday night ? And Carlton have 6 ?

Great. The first game of the year usually takes a bit out of the players. Sore bodies. And we’ve got a 5 day break from it. Well done again AFL…well done again.

so for those playing at home, it would seem our season starts as:

Round 0 - Gold Coast away
Round 1 - Carlton away (5 day break)
Round 2 - bye
Round 3 - St Kilda in Adelaide.

Talk about getting absolutely reamed by the AFL.

What a *** joke. A 5 day break and 2 interstate games in the first 3 rounds.

Besides the football performance impact, there’s also the membership and financial impact as well by having the team play just 3 times in the first 4 weeks and 2 of those 3 are interstate as well.

Richmond fans in Victoria only get to see their team play live once in the first 3 weeks. *** off !

Anti Richmond cheats are at it again. I would be absolutely ropable if I was Gale.

As angry as I am right now, perhaps we should wait til the whole draw comes out. Surely we get something back as a trade-off for this?? maybe we will get 11 home games at the MCG as compensation?

We’d better get something back Ian, but knowing the AFL and their hatred of us, what do you reckon the chances are ?

The Carlton game will also be their home game by the looks.

That means Richmond members will not have a home game to attend in Victoria until 4 weeks into the season.

Has that ever happened before in any season, for any club ?
