Yes his response was very interesting TM. Probably had high hopes his boy would go to the RFC but now has to drive him to the airport.

Now to slide back tomorrow and get back into the 2nd round next year. With a whole bunch of talls next and we've already taken Trainor, Armstrong and Faull, reckon it gives us a great chance to trade back into that 35-50 range tomorrow and bank a few extra picks next year.

Nature of this draft really.

North probably had M Whitlock ranked maybe 10-12 or so. Given needs and getting someone in a year earlier they'll see it as a win.

They've recruited experience this off-season so will be expected to finally bounce.

But makes total sense for us. We'd gone tall all the key running players were gone.

And as you say, our 2nd will be very late 20's.

Thanks mate. Actually fun to be back today. I think the thing to take into account with this trade as well is we wouldn't have picked Matt Whitlock with our next pick as we already had Trainor and 2 other keys so that's an extra win. I'm sure it came into Blair's thought process too.

7 picks this year so won't want more than 2-3 next year. Can't be too young. Free agency will kick in in 2 years time with front loaded current contracts too

Armstrong- many saw him as top 10

Even if the won 8 games it’s still a pick in the top 10.

8 wins is 15th this year, 16th last year, 15th the year before. An excellent chance it's worth top 5 pick next year.

Correct. If we can get another F1 and a F2 and slid back into the 40's. Will be a good deal. Then take a slider (or the Doc) with the 1st pick of the RD.

We'll find out the true value of Jack Whitlock overnight I would think, could be another high future pick around the corner.

Interesting decision will have to make as no doubt will get offers . May not be for a tall as it appears the clubs didn’t rate this years crop of talls .

Without knowing much of what’s left I wouldn’t mind getting Dobson , otherwise a future first from anyone and they can give us a pick in this years second round , Brissy owe us a favour so how about future 1 and 34 for 27

Love that we took the punt on Hotton, not a big fan of Smillie, biggest worry is Trainor with the concussion issues though on pure talent I think he was the second best KPP after Tauru and the reward for all three will huge if they pay off - would've liked to have invested in a bit more run & speed. Faull & Armstrong complement each other well though not convinced on the general quality of this year's crop of talls , it was a draft rich in midfielders.
