2024 Draft Thread

The 3-0-75 plan announced in 2010 by Benny Gale also had a secret message to get a kid called Sam Lalor 15 years later in 2025.

Lalor’s postcode is 3075

2010 + 3+ 0 + 7 + 5 = 2025

Got a bit of presence about him the Hotel Langford. Won't be surprised if he becomes the best player out of the front end of this draft.

Big longshot of happening, he's gunna go at 5, but you can tell he'd prefer to be a Tiger.

I firmly believe this is our last chance to get Sam Weideman. Don't stuff this up Richmond ! (Or at least get us Sparkle Narkle).
There is no way we take Weidemann if Schache is still available. No way, and I dont care what Cal says.

I was thinking about the fitness of these juniors. Compare Lalor to Jagga.
One was doing year 12, didn’t really do a pre season because of cricket and never really got fit.
The other one did year 12 last year and was just playing footy.
Does it make a big difference on how we should judge them?
Yeah, one is committed to his footy. The other prefers donuts isnt.

Can never forget Shedda's magic. That little tap kick to(Can't remember now in that game i also can't remember)was as underappreciated by the media as much as Dustys final goal in the 20GF.
It was a goal assist to Caddy.
Not many would have thought to do it, let alone the talent to execute.

Listening to Twomey then he's very confident the top 10 is now pretty much locked.

1. Lalor
2, FoS (North)
3. Jagga
4. Draper
5. Langford
6. Smillie
7. Tauru
8. Travaglia
9. Lindsay/Allan
10. Lindsay/Allan

Said only swing from that is Crows going Langford, which will change things about. But he thinks that is unlikely.

History says, you can now (perhaps completely) lock the above in.

Saints get two of leysy's favourite 3 that would loved to have got (along with Jagga).

pick 10 & 11 is still looking like trade bait to me, I think we either have to move up for Langford / Smith or make a play for one Lindsay or Travaglia. The big thing I'm seeing in this range is the risk profile of the players starts to shoot up, I think I would prefer to lock down a 200 gamer instead of picking 50/50 prospects like Shanahan & Allan.

I'll be disappointed if we take Smillie over Tauru.

Wooo spooky. It's almost kinda Nostrilsdamus like in it's interpretation and understanding so many years after it was first written. Did Benny write it up in similar quatrain form as old mate Nostrils did way back when?

I want us to trade up to 2 for any of Smith, Langford or FOS. Cmon Richmond. Ya know ya wanna.
i think we will too. NM probably worked out clubs weren't that driven to trade up if they're expected to take Tauru at 2 given it leave clubs in that sweet spot for a trade down with a sliding mid to choose from.

Saying they want FOS at 2 leaves those same clubs in that same trade down sweet spot like maybe us and st kilda drier for mids at those selections.

Makes complete sense for NM to say publicly they're set on FOS.
