2024 Draft Thread

Amazing article, what a passion Toce had for his craft, with his fingerprints all over this draft who are we to say that 'we know better'
100% little c,

With exception to a few, most of us have thrown a lot of names (darts) at the board on this thread and with some selective editing can probably pull a sentence or two later to make us look like we knew what we were talking about the whole time (and some will no doubt)

But a lot of us experts here are like when we watch the "The Olympic diving team" perform.

Within 3 dives we tend to go...hmm that's only a 8.2 for sure...didn't quite stick the entry.

Put it this way.
How much better did we look when Bolton went into the middle. Not just skill wise but in his ability to turn on a 1 cent piece.Jagga has the same ability.Yes the guys you mentioned are not slow but thats in a straight line.
I get your point, but I'd also take a Shedda, who wasn't very quick on his feet (in a straight line) but who's hands could release a player outside and get us into space.
I'd equally take that type of creativeness.

Nearly ever Phantom Draft has us taking Shanahan at 11. Its concerning. But I am sure there is a bit of copy cat happening here.

Interesting to see that Armstrong is sliding.
Yeah concerning there seems to be a consensus on him around our pick#11.
Let’s hope the club know something we don’t but he seems to have come from nowhere in our calculations if this is at all accurate

Fox have updated their phantom and this is the part that I thought was most interesting:

The expectation for weeks has been that the Tigers will select a key-position prospect with one of their picks outside the top 10. But there’s growing speculation the Tigers could opt for two midfield/hybrids at Picks 10 and 11. If that’s the case and they select either Bo Allan or Xavier Lindsay with their first selection, Joe Berry and Murphy Reid would be right in their mix.

I’m all for this, particularly as they have both Whitlocks available at our later picks.

I like Lindsay, hoping he is one of the picks.

TBH Twomey is the only phantom worth looking at.

As you say, the rest just copy what he puts out or discusses.

Wouldn't take Shanahan at 11, but there are worse options if we go tall.

For leysy, there's too much small/medium talent available there that will be gone by 18 to pass up.

Anyway, we'll see what happens.

I would certainly rather see the talls picked after our first four, just because the trajectory of talls seems harder to predict. Bank the mids and skilled forwards/defenders first seems safer. Either way, going to be a hell of a ride tonight. Of the top 10, Draper seems the most interesting with the perception being that interest in the top 4 has cooled somewhat.

Finally this day has arrived, since we ended up with our draft haul it's seems like ages for this day to come.

Lets hope we nail it.

Got that feeling similar to when I hit the feature on a pokie machine.

my brain is lit up like a christmas tree.

WTF are we going to do for the next 4 months ?
Read Caesar's training reports, speculate on starting 22 for round 1 and knowing pre, death-ride the draft pick we were surprised we took and say how it was a bad choice and we should have taken yyyy player instead.
