2024 Draft Thread

There are reports that FOS went home one day after a losing game and walked straight past the cat without even kicking it. Is he driven enough?

Yeah not many know what a deeply troubled young man he is. Hes Probably the deepest troubled white man on the continent

But hes got ability and credit to take him early on day 2 and try get his head right.

But at this stage, regarding Wednesday, @bengal tigers is looking like the rightest person in here, and if Lalor/smilie combo eventuate @eZyT would be twice as wrong as the second wrongest wednesday person.

But of course theres a vast open space between right and wrong.

Ill meet youse there

Not sure on Reid and Armstrong inside 10.

Actually think both will go after that.

Expecting guys like Allan, Travaglia, J.Whitlock to push above them.
Wishing JWhitlock goes before Armstrong will not save your money or your reputation.
Looking forward to collecting on both

Keeping pick 1 and 6 and getting both Lalor and Jagga would be unlikely but amazing

It will be very difficult indeed to not get an amazing pair at 1 and 6.

Even if the amazingness wasnt apparent to all

IMG_0558.jpegThe original & by far the best Cherry Ripes were made by MacRobertsons in Fitzroy before moving to Ringwood.
MacRobertsons would never use substitutes in their products. Obviously the same can't be said for Cadbury. :))

The original Cherry Ripes were the GOAT just like the one and only Dusty. :)) :))

We need something from outa space. A god like substance that will power our boys to future glory………….i have the solution.

From good sources like Twomey and other media sources who have all but locked it in.

As we get closer to the draft, they usually get the first 8 to 10 picks spot on.

Unless Twomey suggests otherwise in his phantom tomorrow - lock it in.
Don't know if its the norm or just that Harley was so obvious last year, but he received a letter from West Coast 4 days out from the draft committing to picking him up at 1.

Confirmed by his plus 1 at the table (my work mate/his ex coach)...can also confirm no shenanigans happened afterwards between them...(well so he says).

I'd be quite happy if the end result was Lalor and Langford.

I can't see Jagga making it through, but think there's a chance for Langford I reckon.

Specifically mentions talls and rucks which was interesting

Not reading into that too much. He said apart from the mids, there's been some rucks and keys stand up, there's also some outside players. Something for everyone.

Yup, so that's basically every position on the field covered off. Thanks Geisch

I’m gonna stick my neck out and say the we will pick Jagga at 1.

Watching his highlight reel compared to others I think its a bold call if we don't. Hes exactly what our midfield needs speed, evasive, brilliant extractor, sets up a lot of play. Please make it happen

Was thinking this morning if Blair wanted to tip the whole thing on its head, that'd be perfect to do.
Very hard to argue against the mountain of results he's produced.
I think if we don’t pick him at one, he's off our RADAR though. Can't see 4 other clubs passing him over.

I'd like to see the odds of who is available and taken by RFC at pick 6!

Smillie - Evens
FOS, Jagga, Langford - 3 to 1
Tauru - 5 to 1
Draper - 7 to 1
Lalor - 8 to 1
Allan - 10 to 1

By the way, I have no clue how to frame a betting market with proper odds!

From the comments on this board, seems like Leysy wouldn't either.

Not sure about Rebford.

What is interesting to me is that with all the interviews that have been around with recruiters the one missing is Blair Hartley. It is clear to me that he is not talking.

Because of that I wouldn’t be surprised at anything.

If true we have played the biggest hand of bluff I can ever recall in a lead-up to a draft. The only other comparable situation was Collingwood nabbing Dale Thomas at pick 2, aside from that the media usually get a handle of things from players interviews and the like. I won't be disappointed with Lalor but Jagga would be my top pick, he's bankable and the most likely to hit 200 games.

What did surprise and impress from this interview was the recent three day think tank that was undertaken to finalise our pick order. The fact Yze, Dunne and Livingstone were involved shows the level of importance the club is placing in this draft.
