2024 Draft Thread

If true we have played the biggest hand of bluff I can ever recall in a lead-up to a draft. The only other comparable situation was Collingwood nabbing Dale Thomas at pick 2, aside from that the media usually get a handle of things from players interviews and the like. I won't be disappointed with Lalor but Jagga would be my top pick, he's bankable and the most likely to hit 200 games.
I agree. Blair has given them nuthin’.

What did surprise and impress from this interview was the recent three day think tank that was undertaken to finalise our pick order. The fact Yze, Dunne and Livingstone were involved shows the level of importance the club is placing in this draft.
Not commonly known but they do this every draft.

What is interesting to me is that with all the interviews that have been around with recruiters the one missing is Blair Hartley. It is clear to me that he is not talking.

Because of that I wouldn’t be surprised at anything.
Tend to agree.

Blair noticeably gave Toobey & the pack very little during the trade period either.

I reckon Cal might have annoyed us a bit with some of his comments leading up to the trade period as we shaped our draft hand eg value of our players etc. Was clearly pushing agendas.

I’m gonna stick my neck out and say the we will pick Jagga at 1.
i like this idea

Lalor kind of had this late run and overtook Jagga and FOS, and even
though i know nothing, didn't understand why ... some of it seemed
because of the Dusty angle? But putting that up as a point creates massive
expectation. I get that the Draft runs on 'expectation' , but i expect a surprise from the RFC.

If he doesnt get 1 right,

The error could concertina all the way through the round

And Twomey gets none right.

I respect twomeys record and knowledge,

But i think this is his abberation year.
Exactly right. His last Phantom draft will be very interesting to compare with the real draft order this year.

Blair is in a deep trance, occasionaly speaking single syllables in a graeme richmond death-metal voice.

Hes 100% non-responsive, in a manner very similar to that of @tigersnake before a puzzled Dave Astburys dad on the eve of the 17 flag.

Its very auspicious

twomey drove to wangaratta early this morning out of desperation

Yep we could take all those nice bankable player's that reach 200 games like the Bummers ,and achieve nothing ,or take power player's who don't need 40 possessions to influence a game(if they actually do)and win premierships .

I read you Bengal, Lalor has amazing upside, I do like him & would be happy if we take him. I just think there's a little bit of downplaying with regards to Jagga and his potential upside, many felt the same way about Darcy Parish & Andrew Brayshaw, I reckon this is a similar scenario and I don't think Fremantle or Essendon regretted picking those players.

But whoever we land should be a core player, I think Lalor fitness pending should have a decent career and he does provide us with added flexibility. If the cards fall Richmond's way & we land Lalor & Langford I'll still be feeling good about this draft haul.

In contrast to the ice-lovin bludger FOS, Jagga is said to be so professional he saved his paper round money and bought two cats so he could work on his dual-sidedness.
