Obviously not well before doing comparisons.

Armstrong is the best set shot out of all the forwards but beyond that he looks B grade in just about everything else he does. Will he be able to carve out an AFL career with that alone? Maybe, Amiss does ok for a player not typically in that power forward class. Armstrong can contribute further up the ground but labelling him the next Jeremy Cameron might be a stretch. I can't say I have been bedazzled by any of of his goals either, he looks slightly vanilla and lacks any x-factor which most of the top forwards possess.Armstrong is nothing like Naughton. Bizarre comparison whoever came up with it. Complete opposite actually in every way.
Even down to the things Armstrong does well i.e. kick. Naughton can't.
Was looking at the AA team and it looks like we could get as much as a quarter of the side as recruits.ESPN did the comparisons.

That's his range, being totally objective I reckon he plays a similar game to Daniel Jackson, he's a bit taller so if he could develop a contested marking game he might prove handy as a resting forward. But if he's 196cm and counting then we're entering uncharted waters for a midfielder. How far can Smillie slide?
If he gets to 6 can we pass on him?
Saints already have tall hybrid mids, does he fit their current midfield? Think its likely they choose Reid or Lindsay and a tall. Highly unlikely they pick Smillie.
Dees? Sounds like Langford at 5. And Lindsay at 9. Awesome picks. Maybe a tall. Doubt they'd double up with Langford and Smillie.
Can we say that if he is there at 6 then 80% he is there at 10?
Good. Lets pick Smith, Lindsay, Armstrong or Draper at 6 (in that order).

If Smillie is available to the saints at 7/8 they may take him but I reckon they want a tall and small and they have been heavily linked to LindsayHow far can Smillie slide?

One post ago you though CCJ was a mid. CCJ got stats.Dodson has mobility and gets high possession. CCJ is a .
No chance FOS or Lalor will be there at 6Not if we pick Jagga at #1, then if lolnorf pick Tauru at #2, and Draper goes at #3 or #4, then one of FOS, Langford or Lalor will be waiting at #6.
If Armstrong is going to be compared to anyone it would be Jeremy Cameron.

I knew they should have come to you for final editingObviously not well before doing comparisons.
It’s SOS as well …I'll be shocked if St.Kilda take Smillie - if he's actually there.
They're on record as saying they need more run and carry. Pairing Smillie with Philipou, the Flying Burrito, Windhager, Steele etc doesn't make any sense at all.
Then again, its St. Kilda I guess.

Agree for me either 10 or 11By the way...some here say Reid is slow.
Reid is not slow. He makes time and makes others around him redundant by slick ball use, lovely balance and reading the play. He gets to valuable positions ahead of others without the need to sprint...remind you of a few?...1 Dusty/ Sheds/ Prestia...2 Sidebottom/ Pendlebury
He is high quality..would love to select him.
Smillie could get to 10. But he could go to Melbourne at 5 or 9 if Langford goes before 5. If Langford and Draper go at 3/4 I think it's likely Melbourne will go for a Jagga/Smillie double. Or Lindsay/Allan. (Smillie or Allan will be one because they'll want some size.)
If we get to a point of knowing that Smillie will be there at 10 (or we're okay to get Allan instead) I think it opens us up to trading 6 for 2. And because we've held out this long it'd be (or appear) a major concession from our end, and therefore likely to include one of our 20s picks, not 11 or 18. And we might even get Norf's F2 in the deal.
No, Melbourne won't take both Langford and Smillie. But Crows are said to be keen on Langford. So Melbourne could well go Jagga and Smillie, or Lindsay and Smillie. I don't think the Crows (or anyone in the top 5) are taking Smillie, from what Twomey's saying. Crows are taking Draper/Langford/Jagga probably in that order, I reckon.Langford won't go to North (or us ahead of FoS) at 2, nor Carlton at 3. Only chance going before 5 is Crows at 4. That's only chance, but a real one.
If he does get to 5 and Dees take Langford, like Dell said doubt they take Smillie at 9.
If we are keen on Smillie as Twomey suggests, the tell for us if he gets to 10 will be if we believe Crows take him.
That's Leysy's guess anyway.
I've changed my mind watching Jaggas highlights I hope we pick him with 1.
