2024 Draft Thread

I'm still not convinced we are trading up... We are obviously guaranteed whoever we want with pick 1 - say that's Lalor - then we will get one of FOS, Langford, Draper - but more likely Smith or Smillie at pick 6. Lalor and Smillie. Lalor and Smith. Sounds pretty solid to keep all our other picks. I would love Lalor and FOS personally and if we are smitten with that combo, then trading up is highly possible. When is this bloody draft - not sure I have 3+ more weeks of scenarios in me!

It depends if the likes of Jagga, Langford etc are still there and if we prioritise very good mids before him.
With the option of taking Kpp further on.
It’s only a suggestion where I thought they might be interested if they wanted to keep F1 but we get p2.
We keep p6 if Tauru already taken, if he’s not it goes to #lolnorf. If he is taken, they get p18, 20, 23

As I said it would take some trust and goodwill.

Hi Willow. That’s not the way it reads.
But if we did agree to trade it back if he was still there maybe they wd agree.

…..
…..

“If Tauru is there at P6, we have a choice to pick him before Melbourne/Saints or trade p6 to #lolnorf for our original p18 and 20.”
…..

Some goodwill and trust required from both clubs. But it maximises picks for this draft.

We still have p24 to trade out (into 2025 draft) or use ourselves

Havnt seen him play and only highlight reels to this point but he is quick and really takes the game on, his marking really strong and he will only improve. I believe north have it right….wouldn’t hesitate to take him at 6.

There will be some very good prospects who come with the Bolton picks.

Are the Blues only interested in those two? I'm wondering where Langford fits in the equation.
Its such an open draft!
Clubs need speed, so I can see why Langford is passed over. Doubt he makes it as a starting mid.
Its why i suggested he could be a terrific wing. 20 bullet kicks and 2 marks I50.
And where does Smillie fit? His projection is more supposition than most.

Then pick 7 would have currency, Errol Gulden is a matchwinner, I'd be happy with a version of that if things don't work out in the middle. His numbers look ok, not far off Smith's production, I also think a player with a big tank would be suited to the MCG. Langford wants to play for Richmond and I'd be happy to see him in yellow and black.

It really depends on Carlton, that pick is a wildcard if O'Sullivan gets taken by Richmond.
I think Carlton take either FOS or Draper/Jagga and cant see them going for Smillie/Langford
But if lalor is available they would take him

1. Lalor
2.FOS
3.Jagga
4.Draper
5.Langford
6. Tauru (north)
7.Smillie
8.Armstrong
9.Reid

ditto..
and i'm a fan of his team mate Cooper Hynes who hasn't rated big mentions on here
i get the hype over FOS, Smith and Lalor...
but RFC could do far worse than a Langford/Hynes combo and something tells me we are looking closely at both of them

Melbourne take Langford? Which means all the good mids are off the board by pick 5. I'd say pick 2 becomes a necessity.

I was adamant that Blair wouldn't trade up but if north offer up there 1st next year we would be neglect not to do it, they are 110% bottom 5 next year even bottom 3 next year they are *smile*.
If we do get pick 2, I reckon the Quinella will be Lalor and Langford.
Blair lit up when talking about Langford.

Or if we dont we still have options imo

We could run the gauntlet and if 1 of our mids we want are there we take him but if not we could trade out
#6 for #15 , #16 + F1 to GWS that would give us #10 , #11 , #15 , #16 , #18 , #20 , #23 ,#24

#1 - Lalor
#10 - Allan
#11 - Travaglia
#15 - Hotton
#16 - Berry
#18 - Shannahan
#20 -J Whitlock
#23 - Faull

#24 - Trade out F1

Machine gun approach whilst accumulating 3 x 1st rounder for 2025

Ideally id rather trade up #6 + #11 for that north deal but i would highly doubt they do that so #6 + #18/#20 for #2
