2024 Draft Thread

Then why use Rances name?
Could've used a host of others like Laffy/Bulluss.
Because of the similarities in the criticism of a backline player for a few brain fades.
The argument that because I mention one aspect of a player as similar to another player means that I am saying the players are equivalent in all ways is just nonsense.

Just reading some posts about Balta and North's interest so just to clear this up it's not going to happen.

A good mate of mine who's related to Noah told me this...

When I spoke to him on the weekend I said tell me you’re not going anywhere else and he said no way im staying loyal love the RFC
He said to me why would I want to leave - it’s like family here ..

Also spoke about Mate!

Mate Colina is healthy again and training .. who knows he might come good .. he’s got Riolis stamina they say at the club.
They wanted to send him to NT for a pre-season.

I'd hazard a guess that Twomey uses his convos and adds them all up.
Convo with player agent - we've spoken to Richmond seven times
With RFC - Player x is a very.good player
With Shifter Sheahan - he is a top 5 pick for sure! (Said for 15 players)

So Twomey sees our interest and identifies our targets for pick 1.
Except this year we will have multiple early picks. Toce and the team are preparing for the full draft hand.
Its confusing Twomey and his system.

We may have Langford at 6 or 10.
And are doing our due diligence
If we listen to 'Shifter' sheehan will might be cemented to the bottom of the ladder for the next 30yrs.
He is the most unreliable so called expert.
That Ablett bloke seems to know the kids pros and Cons. I'm surprised he isn't working for a club.

But the AFL Draft as much as it has been Carlton's Achilles heal for 30+years we have struggled since day 1 besides a couple of good yrs between 2008-2010..
The rookie draft has been our domain where they seem to have selected kids on merit not because of family ties or what school they go to
We can't be worse with Clarke gone.

Never said he was the next Rance, he isn’t.

The similarity is the way people concentrate on the things he does wrong and miss what he does right, which as a defender is plenty.
It wouldn't be a bad thing if he got a big offer to move.
Picks 1 and 2 or 2 picks or a swap of players.
If there's ever a time to clear the list it's this year and next.
We can't afford to watch a 28 year old miss read a high ball or kick the ball directly to the opposition.

Rance was well and truly AA by 100 games.
Balta is a long way off Rance as a defender.
Pick 2 and a future 1st for Balta.
I would certainly consider it.
Pick 2 and a future 1st from who??
I will drive him there.
No way. Barrass is a better defender and he is getting WC pick 13

Balta turns 25 later this month

So we want to draft an 18 year old so we can teach him to run, jump, mark and kick like Balta, or just keep Balta and work on his very occasional brain fades.
I know what’s easier.

Hawthorn is prepared to offer pick 13 in this year's draft for wantaway Eagle Tom Barrass, with West Coast expected to target that selection as well as a future first-round pick in exchange for Barrass and a second-round pick. A version of pick purchasing – where the Eagles could pay some of Barrass' remaining salary to generate a better picks outcome – is also a possibility, however the Hawks are considered unlikely to want to part with back-to-back first-round selections.

Like the look of Toby Travaglia and Bo Allen. Hope we don't sacrifice potentially picking them up by trading picks to climb up the order.
