I looked at some of the latest footage of some of the first/second round hopefuls ,l can't say lm over confident that we should be going all guns blazing for draft picks.

A couple of bottom agers in that list to watch next year ,Archie Taylor and Harley Hicks ,Taylor a hb/mid who is really quick ,and Hicks who is a smallish forward.
Reckon there is more value in knowing who finished bottom 10 in each result than top 10.
You don’t want a midfielder that has no tank or a key forward that runs a 3.3sec 20m sprint. Those kinds of results are fatal to a prospects chances of succeeding at the top level.
Rarely are the best players from each draft featured in the top results but I bet you’d find a strong correlation with the bottom 20% and draft busts.
It was difficult to access the complete testing with only top 10 on most places.
From the 20m sprint times Zac butters in his year was around 3.05 ish which in reality is still quite quick,but wouldn't make even top 15- 20 .
its generally athletes 6 or 7 out of top 10 and footballers after that.
there's a lot of exception of course.
Darcy Jones, who is looking like a star, ranked athletically very highly across the board from memory.

a bloke who is under 200cm, who can't run under 7 min 2km,
is highly, highly unlikely to make an AFL footballer.
The only downside is not this year Ezy, it is that clubs have long memories.
I'm not sure of the Toce philosophy but if we are consistent with history we would bid on them if we rated him the best and if we didn't we wouldn't bid.
The only other factor is that the number 1 pick gets some sort of payment from NAB as I recall ?
The thing I find is with the testing is that some guys who are jets in testing are quite often the opposite on field. Classic example was Ben Cousins. Wasn’t overly fast in testing but had huge football endurance and always ran at max speed.
Was told by one recruiter that if a player can get around 6.30 2kmTT and below 3.20sec 20m sprint they are happy.
3.20 isnt rapid. Its not iceberg slow but must be chilly country
