2023 mid-season rookie draft

Whilst I like him and think he will be a good mid sized defensive option going forwards, is he really what we need right now? If we didn't take him is he likely to be gone before the next rookie draft?

I like the look of Maric but he probably doesn't last to our pick and I think Will Elliott has a lot of upside to him.

Will Elliott is no good. Barely has an impact at U18’s for a guy 200cm tall.

Trezise is a very athletic half forward Posh. Least that is where he's played almost all his footy.

This is a mid season draft,if we can pick any player up who goes on and play's 100 games,our recruiters have done a great job.
I think the talls that are available ,are probably no better than Bradke.
Maric and Tucker as a ruck look alright ,but most likely will be gone.
 
Given we are missing a first rounder in the national draft, no doubt our strategy will be to pick a kid eligible for the MSD that could be a first rounder come the ND. Not sure if any are that good? If not, we should pick for need which, to me, is a goal scoring foward. I would be having a look at Ben Ronke for one.

Seems to be playing his best footy behind the ball though. Even the Dreamtime game was having little impact forward so they moved him back and he impacted.

Not saying he wouldn't be a good long term pickup though.

In my opinion this is why I think we need to clear a spot for a second pick. We can fill a need with our first pick (key forward hopefully), then pick up one of our talented VFL players (El Nour, Trezise, Teal). Whether Tarrant retires or even put Kaleb smith on the inactive list (he’s been listed as long term on the injury list for most of the season). Think it’s a big opportunity to bring in two guys, especially with not having a first round pick this year

So when do we need our list changes in and finalised by prior to the MSD? For some reason I thought it was today? if it is, then it looks like we might only have the 1 pick.

Looks like its next Tuesday to finalise lists going into the MSD.
 
Can someone tell me how the mid-season draft order works? Is it based on last years ladder position? or your position on the ladder after this weekend?

and will we look at Narkle to replace George?
