2023 Draft Thread.

We’ve got Coulthard, Judson Clarke and Seth Cambell all looking like they can develop into neat small forwards.
Do we need another?
What we don’t have is a specialist high marking half forward with a penetrating kick.
They’re not easy to find but worth their weight in gold.

Coulthard a long shot still despite showing a bit,
Clarke is a real player, needs to take a big step next year tho. Had 16 games and 11 goals this year, hope he plays 20 games and has 20 goals.
Seth Cambell hasn't played a game.

We have one quality prospect. We need more.

Unless it’s Watson, drafting another small forward is only adding to your list of unknown quantities.
Think we’ve got enough to work with in that department.

Beyond Morris who do you take? If it's purely needs based then a player like ZZ will take extra time, if Ratugolea is any guide one could be waiting 6 years.

What about Michael Rudd? Third tall size (192cm) and apparently a decent tank. Kicked a few goals in the Champs as well.

I mentioned it months ago,and recently as well,and like most things on the net it spreads..

1 He hasn't signed a extension ,which is very unusual for a high draft pick .
2 He barracked for the Tiges,and the Tiges are after a kp forward .
3 We will pay overs for him with our salary space opening up at the end of next year.
4 Hartley plans ahead ,and expect the 2025 first rounder and a decent player to be part of the trade.......

Whats peoples thoughts on how many picks we take.

I'm thinking (unless something dramatic changes), that we might only take 1 live pick to the draft and promote rookies with the other 2.

We don't have many list spots (3, possibly 4 if we delist Biggie) but then we are linked with Kosi, Harmes, Newchurch, Sinn / Duursma if Soldo leaves. It doesn't leave many spots for new draftees. Will we even take Naish? I'd have thought it was a no-brainer as a rookie but I'm not sure.
