What's so good about Nick Daicos? Big head? Hearing SEN this morning, he complained about not being interviewed by GWS....why?

Maybe he's scared about being stuck to the Scum because of his dad?

Hmmmm...... :D
That’s harsh Leysy. Trawling through old posts.

FWIW I was commenting on the so called draft experts (present company excluded) who are predicting this could happen.

Smoking Aces still thinks Hobbs ends up within the top 10.

Just about every phantom today ha ha taking Gibcus, which is a great pick at 9 imo. Need to pray that a Somsie/Erasmus can get through to 17 now, or trade up the order. Landing an elite tall and an elite midfielder would be a huge haul

Matt Clarke suggested that we could move a second-rounder back in the draft if there is a group of players that we rate at the back end of the draft.
This will give us more currency in next year's draft which he says also looks strong. One possibility is trading pick 28 to Essendon for their future 2nd round pick + 3rd rounder this draft.

I am not comfortable with that. What are PREnders thoughts?

We have 5 picks within the top 30. Unless we are doing a deal to get a pick around 16-20 (using our 2nd rounders), or for example doing a deal with the crows trading our 7 & 26 for their 4 & 33, I would not entertain in giving up any of our 2nd rounders for a 3rd rounder and a future 2nd rounder, there's just too much talent on the board from the late 20's to the 30's.
I’m happy for them to do that trade. If Clarke truly believes that a player who was thought to go in the 2nd round will now be available in the 3rd round.
We effectively get the same player we wanted and then add a bonus 2nd rounder for free in next years draft.
Believe me, you’ll be happy with this scenario this time next year.

My read from Clarke's interview is he'll go Johnson and Sonsie/JVR with our first two picks if available and if there's no live trades

I think it makes perfect sense to carry one of this years 2nd rounders into next year.

its almost a no brainer.

Somsie’s highlight take makes him look
Classy as anyone in this draft. I know it’s just a tape, and some have said he can be lazy, but on talent he’s a probably a top 5 player in this pool

I reckon if we take Gibcus and then Hobbs slides there’s a fair chance we’ll try and trade 15(17) up to get him. For example we might offer Essendon that and one of our 2nd rounders for their 51 (which will come in a fair bit with all the dogs picks in the 40’s). Walking away with Gibcus and Hobbs would be a sensational result.

Sonsie or Hobbs paired with one of Johnson/Gibcus/JVR will have me rapt out of my brain.

I’m no draft expert, but that highlights tape, averages of 23 touches and a goal, and his VFL performance has me confused why Somaie isn’t a top 10 lock. Guy looks like he has way more tricks and class than Hobbs and Ward for example

I thin’ you can bank on their being a truckload of trading in this draft.
