Are you a lip reader?Every time I see Hobbs speak he screams Richmond man.
Everything is pointing to him being the pick.
I’m locking it.

We bloody well should. Is Mac Andrew now sliding? Do we take him if still on the board?
Greene was always a mid, up until his fifth season when GWS threw him forward and he kicked 43 goals. Prior to that he was averaging 28 disposals a match with his highest being 42 touches. He's a bit like Gray, his value is seen to be higher as a forward therefore he spends more time there but that doesn't make him useless as a midfielder.Toby Greene hasn't made it as a mid.
For mine I d treat his midfield capabilities with caution..... doesn't make him a bad player or a bust though!
West Coast are very good at it.Wouldn‘t be the first player who has missed part of a combine because he has a promise from someone.
Has SA merged with Victoria?Callum Twomey said Josh Ward wants to stay in Victoria. He's Hawk supporter. Twomey see him going to either Adel, Haw and Rich.
If we got Buddy we wouldn't have got Cotch or Dusty.Thats all over now
3 flags in 4 year's erasers it.
*I can tell you that Franklin wouldn't have lasted at punt rd.
He wouldve got up and left
I think you'll find that SA is on the Frankston train line. A few stops past Mordialloc.Has SA merged with Victoria?
Shush! Is Mac Andrew now sliding? Do we take him if still on the board?
Makes sense when you think about it.I think you'll find that SA is on the Frankston train line. A few stops past Mordialloc.
I could be wrong...
True but we're talking about 10-15 year careers, I wouldn't be planning around that rule, I'm pretty confident it will eventually be scrapped.I think your comments fail to take into account the impact on the game caused by the introduction of the stand rule. We all hope it will go away but that’s unlikely to happen any time soon.
You are totally correct, we do need all types of players.5 points down on the siren, 55 metres out, who do we want kicking for goal. Horses for courses, we need all of them.
2nd or 3rd training session is my bet.The point is taking the ball up that high takes time he won't have in an AFL midfield. Expect to see him knocked off his kick a fair bit, at least early on before he rectifies it.
Ingrained techniques take longer than a couple of training sessions to rectify.2nd or 3rd training session is my bet.
I’m happy for you to say that you believe that Johnson is a better prospect than Hobbs. I think Johnson will be a fine player also.Sure, I'd take Johnson but I don't see Hobbs as the only option for the inside role, the case you make for a ruck rover is true, it's Johnson or someone who can't kick or is as slow as molasses, therefore fill the position while you have the opportunity.
I am with you also. As much as I do like some other picks around the mark, I am locked on a Hobbs - Sonsie one-two punch in the 1st round.I am with you. Oozes leadership, fixes a missing part to our midfield mix and is ready to go as of Round 1.
Our next task is also getting Sonsie.
To me it's the expectation that a lower ranked inside mid will be satisfactory.
We already have Shai Bolton, so a forward line including Bolton and Rachele would be ace, but if our mids are Dunstan and Hately types then we still have problems
You can pick those up in the 3rd or 4th round or maybe in the rookie draft. That's settled it then. If he's the #1 Richmond man there, then he's ours.
I wonder how long before we start hearing #CollingwoodMan or #EssendonMan
Well if they lad likes to keep getting runover by Dusty. It won't take long.Ingrained techniques take longer than a couple of training sessions to rectify.
Tall mids who can kick well are as rare as hen's teeth, this extends beyond this draft & Johnson's relative unique skill set adds to his worth. His upside is also greater given he has pace, agility, height & the scope for him to be a genuine forward threat much greater than Hobbs in my opinion. From pick 5 onwards the field is pretty even so I would be looking at the draft haul in totality rather than simply grabbing a spate of inside mids.I’m happy for you to say that you believe that Johnson is a better prospect than Hobbs. I think Johnson will be a fine player also.
But you keep saying that we need to pick the tall midfielder because of what will be available later. That’s not any different than saying let’s pick up Amiss because we can easily fill the other roles later in the draft.
Just about all teams pick best available in the 1st round (especially in the top 10), not worrying about what may or may not be available later on. You may disagree with that logic, but that’s your opinion and that’s fine.
And again, if your totally keen on picking Johnson over Hobbs because you honestly think he’s the better prospect. I’m cool with that.
Don’t know that the RFC will take your approach.True but we're talking about 10-15 year careers, I wouldn't be planning around that rule, I'm pretty confident it will eventually be scrapped.
