2021 Draft Thread

You know I want Hobbs, but I would be equally as happy if Gibcus was picked at 9, or Johnson/Erasmus all quality players.
It's our 2nd first-rounder that I want to nail. Sinn, Goater, Butler, Sonsie, will at least one of them get to 17. I'm thinking yes, what would be your order of preference from these 4 or others you have in your top 20.
I have Goater ranked at 10 & Sonsie ranked at 11 so I would probably follow those rankings, grabbing Goater also allows us to select Murley and still maintain a similar list composition. I'm pretty confident Cooper won't be snapped up before our third selection rolls around.

9. Johnson
17. Goater
30. Murley
31. McDonald
32. Taylor

That is my ideal scenario, probably lacking a tall but with Biggie probably out the door we can grab a state league guy like Dean or Pegoraro.

Solid selections, good runners, good ball users (Goater can be a bit hit and miss when in the midfield). Murley and Taylor both under 6 ft, would replace one with a tall.
If our first 2 picks are mids, Blake Howes would be a great get with one of our 2nd rounders (f available).

Bully is there any ready made kids?
Like Tim Kelly, Luke Ryan, Isaac Smith, Milocheck etc in this year's group

Forget Howes unless we bite at pick 17, he may still be off the board. As for the tall, we can always rookie a state league player or at least grab one with a pick in the 60s.

I don't mind Doerre, I like judges who stick their neck out. He was bullish on Balta too, nothing wrong with forecasting for upside. Whilst I agree with the high ranking of Johnson & Taylor I would certainly have the Goat in the top 20, if not top 10. Sheldrick a real head scratcher, Alleer could be a bust & the absence of Sonsie will bite him in the derriere.
I don’t mean this to be derogatory to anyone but Doerre’s background with this stuff is posting on fansites as Knightmare isn’t it? Whilst that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t know his stuff in reality it probably means his opinion is no more valid than some of the more knowledgable posters on this site.

Dean is the best state league option in my opinion, his 7 intercepts a match is elite and his kicking is generally safe and assured. Pegoraro is another tall we could consider & I also like Tom Lewis who was I player I wanted in his draft year. Being the best under 23 South Australian indicates he's ready, his tank is also first class. Bailey Rogers is another worth considering, he won the Sandover and presents as a plug and play option if we're short on inside ball winners.

He probably won’t get drafted but I like Jack Hayes from Woodville West Torrens, great hands, versatile (switches between forward and back, sometimes ruck), averages a goal a game, 20 touches for a KP player and 7 marks. 25 going into ‘22.

It can be very helpful in determining disposal efficiency, overall production & inside capability. It shouldn't be used to red line players but more a tool to find value down the order.

You mean Inside Football prospectus?
Nah the AFL Prospectus by Champion Data.
