2021 Draft Thread

“hopefully I can land at the ‘Tigs’, but we’ll see.”

Ah *smile*. Let’s just get him and put him alongside the Chimp.

All hail the Great Chimp.
Yeah why not. We draft in pairs now so why not also draft to pair kids up with their hero’s…!

Hobbs & Sonsie & Sam Butler

It worked last year with Samson Ryan and MoJu

Hobbs & Sonsie are a great complement to one another I feel - what you don't get with Hobbs (athleticism, pace, class) you get with Sonsie, and vice versa (consistency, leadership, intensity)

bonus that they're both excellnt judges of footy teams too

Hobbs/Sonsie or Johnson/Sonsie combo has a nice ring to it.

Let someone else draft the Richmond supporters. If they are passionate and good enough they'll come home soon enough. Ala Kane Johnson and Tom Green next year

Is Tom Green coming next year the reason we dropped off Hobbs earlier in the year?

Does 14 ranked players mean we are planning on trading up from our 2nd pick?
Not necessarily. Take out Horne, Daicos and Darcy and the next best 14 takes up to our 2nd pick. Which probably means our first two picks are best available, and then using the picks in the 20's to address needs.

I'm warming to the Sinn and Sonsie double with 7 & 15.

If we want a Hobbs type player, that could be available with our later picks (Ned Long).

Doerre's a farkwit. I'd take cunnilingus tips from Whately before I listened to that bloke about footballers.

Long is slow. But Leysy likes Ned as a name.

A throwback but also strong and quirky. Rises the rankings for that.

Yes Long is slow but he does have very good endurance which helps.

My point is simply that Hobbs is far from an athletic/aerobic beast - so I'd be more inclined to go for his type later in the draft, rather than use pick 9 on him.

Go Sinn and Sonsie early and a Long/Sheldrick type later in the draft if at all (we still have Ross and RCD to play those roles).

it's a pretty bizarre list

Alleer at 9, Sheldrick at 11, Taylor at 12, Uwland at 18

No Sinn, Sonsie, Goater, Wilmot or Chesser

Are knevitt,Goater, and rcd guys with similar traits,
All 3 have a bit of pace with agility or do the first 2 find more ball due to better endurance.

I don't mind Doerre, I like judges who stick their neck out. He was bullish on Balta too, nothing wrong with forecasting for upside. Whilst I agree with the high ranking of Johnson & Taylor I would certainly have the Goat in the top 20, if not top 10. Sheldrick a real head scratcher, Alleer could be a bust & the absence of Sonsie will bite him in the derriere.
