At 18 years old, they're all Fken Project footballers. No Fken Project footballers
All those guys in the 15-25 range so we'll need to manouevre up a few notches. Not sure I like them more than Taylor but I think they represent good value around the 20s. Can definitely see us doing a deal, maybe 26 & 28 for 20, similar to the Bobby Hill trade. So true. I know he’s not a mid but Judson Clarke can bring that pace to our forward half. With the picks after 30, I’d take him.
Needing the pace factor and spreed of types needed Sinn, Chesser and NWM seem to fit needs. You’d have to think we take one of them or another player with that profile.
He's like a hover craft, gets lifted, floats a bit and tends to get first use, very similar to the way Ryder overcomes his height deficiency. Timing of his leap very impressive so you could feasibly say he could translate that ability to the forward line. Kicking looks safe and assured to me and overhead strong. He will take 3-4 years, that's the only caveat & one would need to be patient. Not sure we can afford that & I'm inclined to grab players who are ready to roll in season 2022.Probably a dumb question, but. At 200cm and skinny as hell, could Mac play as a mobile third tall early in his AFL development stages?
Considering plus 190cm players are starting to come to the fore as midfield beasts, 195 / 197 cm KPP aren't really considered as monster forwards anymore and 200 cm rucks are classed as undersized. Just wondering what the kids overall athleticism, marking n kicking are like? He's obviously got a physique like a flying pencil at the moment, but perhaps a year or two at VFL n then maybe slotting into some sort of tall mobile forward combination with Delilah as Jaaack n then Lynchman fade towards career pensions.
Wouldn't hurt to work towards a bit of ruck craft as well when he builds some bulk, but that would probably be somewhere around four or five years down the track.
This year is a average year for rucks,,in a lot of games l have seen a lot of kp types are doing the ruck. He's like a hover craft, gets lifted, floats a bit and tends to get first use, very similar to the way Ryder overcomes his height deficiency. I think if we are looking at comparisons Nic Nat's play style is similar but as for body shape I think this is where Mac's uniqueness will be.Most top ten rucks have projected as dual positions prospects, Ryder was actually seen more as a CHF due to being 194cm (he actually grew 3-4cm which isn't unheard of with some rucks). Ben McEvoy was also seen as a dual position guy, think he kicked 7 goals in TAC from memory. So having a few feathers in the cap almost necessary unless you are a contested beast like NicNat who doubles as a midfielder.
Not dumb at all TM, this is exactly what I see, how hard would the third tall match up be with his aerial presence.Probably a dumb question, but. At 200cm and skinny as hell, could Mac play as a mobile third tall early in his AFL development stages?
Just poring over his stats in TAC, 37 touches versus Eastern Ranges, 22 contested & 9 clearances in drizzly conditions, efficiency good. That is worthy of closer scrutiny, will see what I can dig up but any player who can execute their skill in the wet needs to be looked at closely.First rounder Stew, his performances in the Nab cup ,and even the Vic country trial match are all very good.
With covid effecting the nab cup last year ,and his choice of playing School football over a few nab cup matches this year, might hide him a bit to online forums,it won't to club recruiters.
Same. WIth that body shape, I don't see him being a full-time ruck for 5-7 years. Nic Nat came in with some natural size, just needed to be redefined. Andrew is a bean pole. An extremely athletic and coordinated bean pole but an absolute string bean.I think if we are looking at comparisons Nic Nat's play style is similar but as for body shape I think this is where Mac's uniqueness will be.
I don't see him having the bulk size of others mentioned as he gets older.
Just another intriguing thing to watch unfold draft day.
Judson Clarke, averages 17 touches & 0.8 goals a game, not a huge contested winner but numbers are solid. Five goals in the state trial match impressive. It all comes down to his athletic profile, needs to be elite in the pace department to nail down a best 22 position. Also worth noting he is listed at 69kg, could be a couple of seasons in the gym.So true. I know he’s not a mid but Judson Clarke can bring that pace to our forward half. I would not be a fan of trading 26/28 just to move up 6 places to grab the 22nd rated playerAll those guys in the 15-25 range so we'll need to manouevre up a few notches. I see things differently Turk, although I'm yet to finalise my order I do see a drop off in talent around the 25 mark. Now if we are still 50/50 on using 38 & 40, then moving up 6 spots and bringing in 38 into play we are not weakening our draft hand, not to any great extent. Getting the balance right critical and this is the range where you typically get a decent chance at securing an A grade outside type. I think I want one player in this category.I would not be a fan of trading 26/28 just to move up 6 places to grab the 22nd rated player
specially in a draft like this where there are 10-15 players you could throw a blanket over in that range.
You would have the chance to trade these picks into 2022 and get a 1t round pick or just take them where they fall
For his position and role, he doesn't need much weight, Charlie Cameron is 75 kg, started at 70. All small forwards come in light. Did 7.99 Agility. And shows footballing pace in this clip. Looks every bit a natural footballer. Like the fact he pushes up the ground and doesn't look lost outside 50.Judson Clarke, averages 17 touches & 0.8 goals a game, not a huge contested winner but numbers are solid. Looks to be an upgrade on Matthew Parker, think he has more toe & better evasion. Don't think I take him ahead of some of the mids & wingmen but for a pick at 38 or 40, one to consider. For his position and role, he doesn't need much weight, Charlie Cameron is 75 kg, started at 70.
