"NORWOOD is confident youngster Peter Bampton’s hopes of being drafted this year will not be hurt by his absence from the national under 18 championship.
Bampton will be sidelined for eight weeks because of ligament damage and his ankle will be in a moon boot for several weeks.
The midfielder landed awkwardly and rolled his ankle in the final quarter of the victory over Adelaide last Friday night and the Redlegs immediately suspected significant damage. The cure is rest and he could miss up to seven games, starting with tonight’s clash against Woodville-West Torrens at The Parade"

Any relation to Brett Burton?Phantom said:Both mentioned highly from last weekend's SA v WA game.
Clem Smith was mentioned as a Byron Pickett clone.
Jarred Pickett is already a Pickett.
Another to get an honourable mention is the SA 193cm mobile CHF Burton, with 5 goals.

I don't understand the lack of love for Bampton. He's everything we need from what I've seen. How's his skills usually?SCOOP said:Thoughts on Peter Bampton?
I'm a huge wrap for him Gussy.
Connor Blakely is going to bolt into the top 10.
Hardisty?Gus said:I have one from WA that might fly under the radar. More about him somewhere down the track.
Ward was a pretty easy pick to be honest. I can recall a few on here saying he was a C grader but I don't think they had really seen him and simply read that others were ahead of him so marked him down the list.
I was really impressed with the guys on display today though. Some very athletic talls which a lot of clubs will be keen on.
Which players stood out for you?

From the few times I've seen him he seems to have a decent burst out of a pack. He tended to handball a lot in the games I've seen so wasn't sure if it was maybe his foot skills.SCOOP said:Me neither. SANFL form translates across to AFL. See Aish & Dunstan this year. I haven't seen him live to get a true read on him and won't cause he is out of the champs but I'll put the feelers out. I want to know about his pace and burst. From what I've been told his skills are excellent.

I am a big fan of Pickett. I'd love to pick up Shannon Taylor too, will be watching the VFL-SANFL game with interest.SCOOP said:Top 10. If he burns up the rest of the year, top 5.
Lot of talls will go early. Hard to call at this stage.
If we could snag him and trade for pace (Jeffy Garlett) it would change things dramatically.
