Just a cold. Poor Pendles....they were preparing his funeral....
 
If they get their 17 round season and their shorter quarters, who thinks they’ll campaign to make that the new normal going forward? Was being spoken about even before the virus landed.

Jack R being on 360 being thrust as a spokesperson has coped a hammering on talkback.

What was interested that he said, was that the players were not consulted re the 17 games season and Gill went on his own on this.

The AFLPA CEO has also said as much and its clearly why the player are protesting. Of course they should have been consulted before anything was said publicly.

I think the stance of the players is a disgrace tbh. By wanting a full season, they are going against the trend of sports all around the world. do they think they're special or different to everyone else?

20% on a mill is 200k

of course footy is special and different to everything else.

Zipps they have (the AFL ) a fund !

Also I think a sliding scale say 1-10+ year players can be an idea.

If all across the board from CEO, club land, industry out there takes a cut( whatever it may be) to help I’m sure in future years the players will reap the rewards!

I’m sure things like the above are being discussed!

Take a hit now and get it back in future years.

why did gill come out and axe 5 games, before declaring if the season is even commencing?

what’s the advantage of shortening the season?
 
Tf, I assume because they are expecting a 4-5 week shutdown (maybe longer) at some stage later on.
News.com.au reporting Richmond players have been told game is on despite no official Afl announcement.

Shortened quarters = Season's f*cked. Might as well just go through the motions coz I reckon no team would realistically want the 2020 premier tag.

It's going to feel like a season of practice matches.
