17 Round Season!

I reckon there's a bit of a lack of creativity.

footy is a fundamental human right? is it not.

Players are paid more than the PM, to put on a show and deliver This basic service? No?

heaps of miners, oil rig workers etc, fly in fly out and spend a fortnight isolated, away from family.

so, why not each club make 2 even teams from their list. 16 a side if it helps.

we have a round of footy every 2 weeks, so each side plays a game a month and isolates as necessary.

if your injury hit, coaches and support staff can sub in, and if you run out of blokes, you play short

isolate their immediate families if it helps. Players only see grandma and grandpa by Skype for a few months.

If a player has kids, they can opt out (Cotchy, Jack, Marlion and Bachar?). We get to watch dusty once a month

I just want to watch a few games of footy and forget the world

Im being kind of half serious.

desperate times call for desperate measures

it would be the most tactical season in history.

would you go a full strength squad (9 wins) and the VFL and hope the VFL could graft 2 wins against depleted opponent?

or would you go 2 even squads and try win 6 games each?

would you play Leppa CHB or CHF?

would you quickly offer the most prodigiously talented, but overlooked, indigenous man in Australia a job as a receptionist?

it wouldnt matter how we did it, we'd still win the flag

Of all the ways they have come up with to derail Richmond Premierships, this one takes the cake.

We don't train at MCG, nor do any of the tenants. Adel teams don't train at AO. Yes we play at g a lot but so do the other tenants...and we beat them. Recently. Not in perpetuity.

Richmond play well at the G because its size suits our game style and personnel.
I’d argue Richmond actually doesn’t have a home ground advantage because so many other teams play on it regularly but I’d also argue Geelong and interstate teams do because they play their grounds often and get used to the intricacies of their grounds. This of course also works in reverse
Travelling and changing routines would also have a factor.
I’m not suggesting that home ground advantage guarantees you a win, but the factors I’m discussing would have more influence in the result than umpiring decisions.

Season start/season is on!

Hearing they/the players have voted 88% to start.

Things can change, hourly, daily/weekly though.

Cross fingers Pendles is clean.

blokes just want to play footy.
After all their training and gutbusting pb's dont they all just want it to be on

So does a 17 game play each other once fixture advantage us? I presume it does as our "second" games were against the better sides but disadvantages the middle of the rung sides that rely on getting "second" games against poorer teams that allow them to get into the 8.

Yeah you'd assume it's everyone play each other once. So easier at the top, harder at the bottom, but overall more equitable and how a season should be.

I don't think their vote was the final on it starting though. Just getting their opinions.

Yep, it's green light to go. Subject to player infection. I reckon they've delayed it to see what Pendles tests as. Perhaps others too.

While a cure/vaccine is essential, what is just as important is for the scientists to come up with a quicker testing strategy. Even on a risk/marker basis. 48 hours to get a result is not good enough. We need immediate. Not only would that help the footy but the entire work to get on with their daily lives.

Think I heard Gill say that the first six are the same then the rest of the fixture has to be re-done????

Also heard that it’s blowing out to longer than 48 hours.

1. not enough testing kits.
2. only if you display severe systems will be tested.

?????

Yep and, meanwhile, you have carriers exhibiting no symptoms. It all doesn't bode well

Great commitment. Did you find the cure?

Funny Bris.

Trying to work out a cure for people’s insensitivity, greediness, shelfishness, me me me attitude.

Our grandparents would be ‘turning in the graves’ at how little so many have regard for others.

Think I will be looking for that ‘cure’ for the rest of my life. Whinge , whinge

How are things in Bris? You ok?

Not possible. Our CMO that's not likely to happen so the cabinet didn't have to self-isolate. Surely our CMO knows better than WHO
