So, ok, I'll put my hand up to being a do-gooder as I am definitely anti-drugs and I don't want that influence at Richmond.

It was bad enough this year reading posts about hoping we'd tank so we'd do better in the drafts but to read posters actually condoning drug-taking and thinking it can be managed - well, youre in a dream world.

I'm certainly not condoning drug taking.

My angle is that Cousins may want to prove a point by staying clean and playing awesome football. I think we may have the personnel to help him with that. Jordan McMahon seemed pretty impressed with our off-field support and welfare structure.

I want him at Richmond.

It is worth the risk because these champion players dont come around very often were the bottom placed club can pick them up for nicks.

I would rather him than the others that are nominating for the PSD. ( Providing he is not asking too much)


I just couldn't handle seeing him in the navy blue or black & white jumper playing with a point to prove.

Then trade him to Sydney for a first rounder next year. We get a refund on #19 and a year of Benny.

FWIW I don't think he poses a threat to the youngsters. He wouldn't be able to belch in Melbourne without the press being all over him.

Sydney or Brisbane OTOH.

tough tough tough one.....i vote YES. Purely on the rubbish in the PSD - put him on a one yr deal make it known one stuff up and he is gone.....we r paying nothing for him...take the risk....we lose little if it fails but could gain enormously if it comes off.......

Agree with this.

All I see is Cousins running around and blitzing in games and even though it will be a short term gain who cares, I just want to win games of footy.

Round 1 would be a beauty.......

He might have off field issues but he is definitely one player who doesn't bring them with him come game day. Close to 40 odd possessions in his come back game. The bloke could teach a few of our players what its like to 'gut run'

It's about a 50/50 split so far. Not surprised at that.
For the price we would pay to get him, in a currency sense, I couldn't see the supporter backlash being too bad.
Seems there was more opposition to Fevola coming to the RFC. Mind you that was going to cost us a first round pick or so.

I voted 'yes'. I think the potential benefits outweigh the potential negatives.

Supporter backlash? The only backlash from a supporter will be holire than thou Caro. I reckon it would be massive and after his fiurst 40 possession game he would be a new tiger favourite.

Let's be objective.

Ben Cousins hasn't invented substance abuse. He is far from alone. He suffers from a typical syndrome of believing himself to be infallible, brought upon him by years of bright lights, thunderous crowds at big games and adulation wherever he goes. We might be able to help him off the field with a new start. On the field, he could teach foley, *smile*, deledio and tambling how to strut and bring back the tiger pride that has been sadly missing for so long. He could have four more years of top football.
