Re: Ben Cousins threads and Poll [Merged]

If cousins is going to be such a bad influence then;

1. Why has West Coast been so good in the past 5 years?

2. Why did West Coast slip a bit this year. Some may say it was the Cousins influence on the culture of the club, but that is cr@p. The reason is Cousins was in rehab and judd played injured and they missed these two players brilliance. The reason West Coast lost to port in the first final this was not culture, but cousins went of injured......he is a brilliant player and we are kidding ourselves if we do not take him. If he goes of the rails get rid of him big deal, god knows we have a number of bad influences down there. If he turns it around he is well and truly worth it and so far above any other player in the PSD.

Can you put in another choice

Depends on who is available

Nah it is supposed to be definitive. Allowing you to change your vote is a little concession, but that's it. Simple yes or no.
I haven't voted yet because I can see both sides and am still weighing it up.

The AFL can't stop him registering again. Just the mention of 'restraint of trade' will make them turn to jelly.
Sort of like when Judd's manager mentioned potential court cases.
So I expect him to play AFL next year (not that it carries any weight) it's just a matter of where.

IMO we'd be better of taking someone like James Polkinghorne with a late pick in the National Draft if the best we can do in the PSD is Guy Richards or Ben Cousins. At least Miller would be able to tell his grandkids that he was the first person to ever pass with a #1 draft pick.

He's fast chalking up plenty of other unsavoury firsts.

Miller, just get him. DO something.

So explain to me why upon losing to Collingwood in the finals in Perth that John Worsfold absolutely tore shreds off Cousins accusing him of ripping the fabric of the club apart?

Of course his influence played a part in them slipping this year.

Yes for me. How come Tooheys can vote 8 times?

Believe it or not this 'do gooder' isn't alone on this issue John Butler.
It will be extremely divisive if Cousins is recruited.

Re: Ben Cousins threads and Poll [Merged]

If worsfold was so worried about this, where were these comments when they were winning flags? The bottom line is they struggles this year because they were not playing or playing to their full potential in judds case. When cousins and judd were both firing they won football games because they are quality players.

Deja Vu

If I had ever been here before
I would probably know just what to do
Don't you?
If I had ever been here before on another time around the wheel
I would probably know just how to deal
With all of you.
And I feel
Like I've been here before
Feel
Like I've been here before
And you know
It makes me wonder
What's going on under the ground
Do you know?
Don't you wonder?
What's going on down under you.
We have all been here before
We have all been here before
We have all been here before
We have all been here before

Noone > Richards
7, I think you need to go back to your maths teacher to learn inequality symbols. Didn't you mean Noone < Richards?

I think he meant that getting nobody is better than getting Richards (I agree); rather than "nobody is better than Richards". :headscratch :duh

Re: Ben Cousins threads and Poll [Merged]

Boy I've got to get myself a new dictionary if being against drugs is the definition of a 'do-gooder'.

So, ok, I'll put my hand up to being a do-gooder as I am definitely anti-drugs and I don't want that influence at Richmond.

It was bad enough this year reading posts about hoping we'd tank so we'd do better in the drafts but to read posters actually condoning drug-taking and thinking it can be managed - well, youre in a dream world.

And polo, you've made a couple of references to things at Richmond that I don't understand. Tell me, if we have a number of bad influences down there, what are they exactly? Please share them with us.

Re: Ben Cousins threads and Poll [Merged]

i am only speculating re the bad influences, however it seems strange to me for West Coasts slip from grand finalists to loosing finalists could be put down to the "culture", like i have said if cousins had not have gone down against port it would of been a wks break a home pre lim. When they played the pies they lost by a few points but cousins judd and kerr were out, i think this was much more likely why they lost than any cultural issues.

Re: Cousins: The poll. Do you want the Tigers to draft Ben Cousins?

tough tough tough one.....i vote YES. Purely on the rubbish in the PSD - put him on a one yr deal make it known one stuff up and he is gone.....we r paying nothing for him...take the risk....we lose little if it fails but could gain enormously if it comes off.......

Re: Cousins: The poll. Do you want the Tigers to draft Ben Cousins?

No way, too much baggage, if it was a one & only offence then possibly,BUT he is a REPEAT offender, repeat offender, repeat offender ad-infintum.

No room for all his Brownlow's, B & F's, Premeirship medallions and all australians I guess.
