Re: Ben Cousins Arrested

He should try Neltrexone, very high success rate from alcholisim to heroin addiction.
Ironic how its only available in Perth.

Re: Ben Cousins Arrested

Still waiting to hear the real story behind this. Oh sorry he was pulled over as a result of his driving. Yeah right, Major Crime Squad detectives were just out for a drive and see Ben Cousin driving along and thought we better pull him over......

Don't buy it sorry. There is more to this one.

Re: Will Ben Cousins Be Playing In The AFL Next Year?

He will be a big loss to the football world on pure talent and ability, but he has no one to blame but himself. I expect him to be sacked by West Coast and deregistered by the AFL.

Re: Ben Cousins Arrested

Didn't get moved from traffic to major crime for several hours according to local press. Think Elvis planted it and JFK dobbed him in Gus?

Re: Ben Cousins Arrested

Traffic infringement? lol.

The fact that he refused the test is the biggest issue so far here.

This is a guy who's done a runner from a booze bus to avoid being tested before.

Whatever it is that he is putting into his body, he sure as heck doesn't want people to know about what it is.

Who's to say he didn't find ways to get around the AFL's testing as well.

Traffic was purely for the blood test Bill......Only way they can test you for drugs.

Not to mention the TV reporter and Camera crew who just happened to be driving by looking for JFK's killer at the time.

Re: Will Ben Cousins Be Playing In The AFL Next Year?

This pisses me off to no end. The guy has a serious problem and he isnt getting the help he needs if he is back on the drugs so soon.

I would be really concerned for his saftey, it wouldnt take much for him to top himself after it sinks in just whats gone wrong this year.

Re: Ben Cousins Arrested

Those charges are done every day in human society - they all need help.
It is a shame they have such talent.

Idiots to throw their professional lives away ............

It would surprise me if the police didn’t have him under surveillance GT.

As an organisation they're generally not that keen on being embarrassed unless of course it’s by one of their own. The embarrassment I’m sure increases when it’s by a footballer who very publically and repeatedly rubs their nose in it; public refusal to co-operate in a nightclub shooting, doing the dash at booze bus leaving the hapless PC’s sprawled in his wake gasping from their winny blues and proceeding to spend the next 18 months trying to top Pete Doherty as the world’s most celebrated and shameless drug addict. I mean it was an open secret he was out and about but to keep rubbing their faces in it. Think the public leak of his repeated presence on the day/evening of Mainwarings death (not suggesting/alledging any involvment) may have been the last straw to pull him in for a 'chat'. In hindsight I’m a little surprised it took this long.

Top flight AFL players are protected species so he’s really burnt his bridges to get to this stage. I wouldn’t bank on him pulling on any boots next year.

Re: Will Ben Cousins Be Playing In The AFL Next Year?

Does anyone really think that the Mainwaring event didn't have an impact on Ben? I think he should have had a minder.

I don't think he should play again, but that is just my opinion.

He is a super player but to me very cocky, arrogant and to me it seems he doesn't give a rats clacker about much except himself at the moment, again just my opinion.

It comes down to choices and I don't think he has made the right ones in regards to his own personal safety.

Re: Will Ben Cousins Be Playing In The AFL Next Year?

The AFL should have not let Cousins play this year. Its all over now for Cousins.

Oh spare me this please. HELP! He's had more help than any torn down junkie I've aver known - what's more he has the means to get all the help he "desires" - and that is the word that matters. Yes he needs help, but he also has to want it.

Were the press there when he was pulled up? If not they had plenty of time to get there. What doesn't add up to me is they say Cousins was pulled over by cops in a plain car for driving erratically yet they were all set up to film an interview with him on the spot. Maybe their cameras arrived later too?

News on the ABC gave me the opinion there's more than one or two tablets involved here, a more significant quantity in fact, and that there are gang related investigations.

I don't understand how Cousins was only fined $900 and kept his licence after running from the booze bus last time. If that's the only penalty everyone who'd be caught should do a runner. Trouble is most can't run as fast as Cousins.

And perish the thought of him coming to Tigerland. If the current charges amount to anything not only will the Weagles get rid of him there's no way the AFL would allow him to play in the AFL again.
