I doubt it seeing you can easily do that already. Just don't click on them.

If only it where that easy. Brodders pretty much knew where I was coming from. I'd love to click on the Cousins thread and read about Cousins. I understand it's very difficult to moderate to that degree but we can all dream.

FWIW I've heard the same from a friend who was told the same thing by a club official.

I take club offiical stuff with a grain of salt. nearly every rumour on some player having it off with someone's wife at the club comes back to a "club official" being the source

not saying they are not at the club, but I reckon half the time they are just passing on their own personal belief based upon assumption, but because it comes from a club official we take it as gospel

I'm happy to discuss Ben. I expect those who tend to jump on me whenever I mention him to stick to the facts rather than fabricating things. If false claims are made it's perfectly reasonable to defend myself on the thread. If that was done by PM the comments attributed to me would go undefended and others might mistakenly assume they are fact.

You've got a delete post button. Use it. Quote the offending post into a PM, respond there, then delete the public post. Stops these endless discussions from occurring and clogging up numerous threads.

Probably relates to him now being dependent on specific prescription drugs like sleeping tablets, valium, etc. Very common for addicts recovering for dependence on illicit drugs (and people without any other type of drug addiction) to become dependent on prescription drugs as most would be aware.

I can't delete posts just because I don't like what they say. The false allegations and claims don't exactly breach posting guidelines. Do you see any irony in yours and other posts on this thread in light of keeping the discussion about Ben, and telling others to use PMs if they're not on topic? ;)

I posted a succinct post that was straight to the point in response to a post of yours earlier today on this thread Rosy that you deleted! ;D

You breached the posting guidelines. The reasons your posts were deleted were explained to you in a PM by one of the mods. They also requested you address your moderating concerns by PM. If you don't wish to continue posting on PRE keep ignoring the requests. :)

Good!

Bring in the kids and let's get over this whole Ben Cousins circus.

There's more to Ben and his visits to hospital many do not know. ;)

Read somewhere (maybe Herald Sun) that the Footy Show is doing a Cousins expose to go against the panel show that channel 7 are doing after the Thursday night half of the doco. It will be interesting to see if they have uncovered some proof to back up Caro and Hutchy's assertions that all is not well with him. I've been of the opinion that where there's smoke....

You aren't the lone ranger there LBC.

Related loosely but it's just hit the Age website that Chad Fletcher has been arrested for cocaine possession in Sydney.

Nope, you're just a very naughty boy :hihi

Young Cotchin doesn't want Cousins to play unless he's fully fit...

According to team-mate Trent Cotchin, however, the Tigers can't afford to carry Cousins into Sunday's match for the sake of sentiment.

"Not really, it impacts your rotations, especially in the midfield," Cotchin said.

"A lot of distance is covered and we can't take that into the last game as important as it's going to be for us and our supporters."

"He's had a fantastic career and we would like nothing more than to have a send-off game and for Ben to be playing with us."

"But it will happen how it is and how he's feeling and that will be the end scenario."

"It's definitely up to Ben, he knows his body best and I'm sure he'll make that decision when it has to be made."

Since I am obligated to reply to Rosy's posts, take a sigh of relief because this will be my last reply on a disappointingly frustrating debate. Hopefully this clears everything up once and for all, as this will be the last you hear of it ;)

My main argument was that the RFC could benefit from Ben's experience and leadership without carrying the burden of risk that West Coast endured. I wanted him at the club before we got him and argued with several posters about the supposed “risks” he brought with him.

We would either be the heroes who helped his struggling life, or we would be the club who gave him a chance when no one else would.

The club was never going to look bad.

I said “forget about the drugs” because they would not impact the club. It’s not an issue in the RFC's equation. It’s only an issue for Ben. If he relapsed, which I never denied was a possibility, then Ben and only Ben himself would be to blame. The club's brand would not be damaged.

That is why I believed we should get him. It was all upside for us and very little risk to the Richmond Football Club. The only risk was to Ben, and even then, it was still a lower risk than if he didn't play football at all.

Therefore, everybody was going to win. Nobody could lose by the RFC recruiting him.

I think everybody agrees that the club was always going to look like "the good guys", which was always my point of view, now.

Everybody wins. All the risks about what he would do to our culture were wrong, and were always going to be wrong. Some posters cited Cotchin’s dad saying he wouldn’t send his son to a club with a drug culture (and I'm not saying you said that yourself Rosy, in fact I highly doubt you did). There was a big fear about Ben ruining out culture, and I strongly argued against this.

In this regard, I believe history has shown me to be spot on with what Ben has brought to the club.

The best leadership we've had for 30 years. Change in culture for the better. Leaving a lasting, positive impression on our young players.

All the risks were for Ben, and would not have harmed the club.

Recruiting Ben was a no-brainer full of positives for us.

Thank you for reading.

Now I would like to steer this ship back towards the actual discussion, I am officially out of this or any other meaningless online debates.

Go Tiges.

I know I will probably going to get crucified for this, but what do you guys think of Cuz being our captain for the day? He can give out more advice and give a nice end to his career. I think it would be great and players and supporters would get something out of it! ;D

Yay or Nay?
