10.51 left in the last quarter, Morton kicks second goal in a row, tigers down by a few points, tigers on a roll - in with a massive chance. Cotchin getting a rub down near the bench and Cousins is standing on top of him, in his ear, pumping him up and giving him advice on how we can pinch it. It's obvious the 2 are close and cuz has taken the chimp under his wing.

When was the last time a senior player has shown this much on field leadership and took it upon himself to teach, encourage and mentor the young players like cousins has. I remember the days when the gaspars, bowdens and kellaways would just put their head down, sulk and walk quietly off the ground after another hiding and the kids would be thinking what the hell is going on.

Lack of leaders, mentors, positive role models, and constant encouragement has been the biggest cancer at this club for over 25 years. our so called leaders have been introverted and selfish, but this wasn't their fault as they didn't have anyone to show them the way before them.

well done cuz, shame you couldn't go on for one more year.
:clap well said & all the moreI hope the club can find a role for Cuz in some capacity. Even as a fitness trainer during the week & runner for game day

Have some footage of this with my camera by accident . Not sure if I can post it here with some other Cuz photos on the day.

Where the Cuz legacy will go on at our club is that in 15 years time when Cotch is at the end of his career, some young kid who is about 4 now will be getting a rubdown with Cotch standing over him talking in his ear about how he can make the game his own. He might have only played 30 odd games for us, but he has influenced and shaped the future of our club and that legacy will be worth so much more than his name on locker 32.

Nice wrap for Campbol too "I'd like to thank Wayne Campbell for his advice in myy time at RFC. I owe a lot to the playing group who gave me a chance to play for this footy club. I'm forever indebted for being a part of it."

It will be interesting to see where PREnders rated Ben in the Player of the Year if he didn't finish top 10 in the coaches votes.

He finished 11th just behind Jackson!

How many votes?

That doesn't change my pondering.  I'm just interested to see how differetly PREnders rated his season compared to how the coaches did.

Great effort by Dan btw considering he only played 14 games.

What, your dislike of Ben is in support of Caro? Why don’t you just say what you mean.
Since you respect Dan so much, maybe you need to ask him what he thinks of Ben.

You are a nasty witch!

How is my dislike of Ben in support of Caro? Doesn't make sense. Caro wasn't even being discussed and I only mentioned Dan after Western's comments.

I am genuinely interested to see how supporters on here rated Ben's season compared to how the coaches did. I wouldn't have a clue what the answer is, and won't until Panthera posts the results, so can't see what's so nasty about that. I didn't criticise Ben in any way.

As for your last comment that speaks more about you than it does me. If it was addressed to anyone else on the site it would be deleted.

The bloke's gone. Give it a rest.

PREnders have discussed ben's talent and form all season. What is unreasonable about wondering how supporter votes compare with coaches votes? Do you think Ben will rate higher, similar or lower in the PRE votes. We are usually pretty close to the mark on here.

Looks like based on votes since round 19 that Cousins probably grabbed 8th spot. Was sitting at 9th at Round 19 and polles well round 20 to get him above Jackson. So probably not too far off the mark by the PRE enders, slightly higher than the coaches. Their voting works differently though, bound to throw one or two curve balls every now and then.

Thanks GO.  Nothing in it then really.  I haven't looked at the PRE vote tally.  I wondered if he'd be a lot higher than that on here.  It's been amazing over the years, despite the very different voting method, how close the PRE award often is to the official one.

I see Caro has continued her crusade with another article that does nothing to enhance her reputation today.

What a ground breaking story - The AFL asked for Ben Cousins to be tested for drugs after his collapse and admission to hospital.

Let it go Caro.
