The trick with drug tests is knowing what they do and don't test for.

You're too stubborn to admit how wrong you were. You're still trying to justify yourself 2 years later.

Did Ben Cousins make our culture worse than it was 2 years ago or not?

And don't do the classical Rosy "go search a million pages for the exact quote and until then I will not answer any questions".

Answer the question for once.

I just expect quotes attributed to me to actually exist, and several you have fabricated in the past didn't. I just searched for the comment above that you've attributed to me as if it's a quote. Nothing shows up. I won't answer the question until I see that quote in context of what I said before Ben came to the club....IF I even said it.

I don't expect you to search through a million pages. There is a very efficient search function on this forum.

he is the most drug tested person in Australia, yet he comes up clean?

you can only avoid testing so much by management, especially when it is random

please also don't tell me you believe the rumour one poster did months ago that cousins has access to a secret type of cocaine that police are unable to test for. if this was the case, it would be the biggest story in policing world wide, and no-one would be giving a toss about cousins role

if you are gunna say he is using and avoiding, please do better than following Caro by just saying "because I know ;)"

Drug tested he is, for what type of drug is another issue. Let's leave it that Tiger74, I really enjoy reading your stuff on footy but not when you think you know about this issue.

I don't know anything about this, and thats my point, you probably don't either

everyone who has posted claiming to be in the know seems to have zero direct involvement, and is relying on third/forth/fifth hand info (at best)

we bag the likes of Hutchy, Caro, and Barrett for printing unsubstantiated inuendo, but surely we should be holding ourselves to the same standard.

if you know he has changed to a new drug, name it and how you know

Classical Rosy, just as I predicted. :clap

Next, you'll try and weasle yourself out on a technicallity.

Fact is we argued about Cousins before and after he came to the club. My main argument was that he was a champion leader who would bring intangibles to the club that would improve our culture. I just want an answer for once.

Do you admit being wrong about what Cuz has brought to the club? Is it possible you're wrong again here?

Oh yeah, Craig McRae also said Ben Cousins is a better leader than Jonathan Brown ;)

Weasle out of what? If you attribute a comment to me I'd like to know I actually made it rather than you just fabricating it. Did I say what you claimed or not?

I wonder if the new Ignore feature will also allow us to ignore specific topics.

I doubt it seeing you can easily do that already. Just don't click on them.

maybe baloo is suggesting that on a cousins thread it would be good if the topic was cousins, and maybe football related.

Maybe. I don't know really. I didn't get that impression that's what was meant by ignoring specific topics. It would be a moderating nightmare to have a football realted only thread about Ben and I doubt most would welcome that kind of censure. Happy to discuss it further on the Feedback board if anyone wants to. :)

"Scans performed on Ben Cousins’ hamstring earlier today revealed no significant damage."

Sounds promising, really hope he gets up for 1 last game.

Trained lightly this morning. Photos of him running with Thursty and Gus on the RFC Facebook page.

You don't exactly have a good record when it comes to giving opinions on Ben Cousins.

In 2008:
Rosy: He'll taint the kids and ruin our culture.

Interesting reading 2008, the year you singled out, conversations about Ben. I didn't post much at all about him that year. Seems you were hedging your bets a bit rather than what you claim above though. You obviously had some reservations yourself.

I'd like a 3 year contract with a straight no questions asked "get out" clause should he be caught taking drugs again.

The reason being, he's either going to become a gun for the next 3-4 or even 5 years, or he's going to relapse during the first year or two and be delisted.

So I'd sign him up for 3 years at a low price, but if he has a major stuff up, contract get ripped up.

Assume the best, but prepared for the worst.

Now that's arrogance ::)

It may come across to you as innuendo Disco, I must be fortuntate enough to know the the 'rumoured' version of why Ben went into hospital.

It's innuendo becuase you are fortunate enough to know, are hinting as much but aren't prepared to tell us all what you mean.

I echo Baloo's and Brodders' comments.

Is there any chance of the petty squabbles being taken to the PM (not Julia...or Tony) and keep this thread on some kind of track?

geoffryprettyboy said:
All I have to say there are resaons why Hutchy still calls him a Drug Addict, and not a reformed drug addict. All this drug testing and pubic hair samples are just *smile* at the end of the day.

FWIW I've heard the same from a friend who was told the same thing by a club official.

Any chance of someone actually saying something about why Ben is still a drug addict and what it is that he is supposedly taking?

Would surely think that the AFL would know and test him for whatever it is he is supposedly taking? Doesn't make sense to me that they would effectively let him get away with it. That isn't doing the right thing by Ben.

Any chance of a PM?????

I'm happy to discuss Ben. I expect those who tend to jump on me whenever I mention him to stick to the facts rather than fabricating things. If false claims are made it's perfectly reasonable to defend myself on the thread. If that was done by PM the comments attributed to me would go undefended and others might mistakenly assume they are fact.

I wasn't given any details.
