You'll have a point if Cousins nominates for the draft.

With a $mill+ cheque coming his way I am not sure he will be keen to start again somewhere else. I know I wouldn't ;D

Handled well.  Say the right things and everyone saves face.

Not sorry the circus has rolled out of town, and hopefully out of PRE.

Thanks for your efforts as a Tiger Ben.   Take care and look after yourself. :)

Hopefully the boys are setting their sights on Port Adelaide for a massive win for Cuzzy.

Hopefully the team performs a lot better than it does at most milestone games.

Beavis on Cuz.

“He came in a star at the age of 18, and he’s going to leave a star at the age of 32.”

The club handled this professionally, as they have with all Ben Cousins matters since he joined. I've come to expect this from the club, which is nice.

They put pressure on him to retire. He knew that's what the club wanted. They spoke about it. They come up with a solution that makes both the club and player look professional.

Well done on Ben for not having an ego about this, and on the club for making a tough decision that could have easily caused anger among fans if handled incorrectly.

Essendon could only dream that they handled Lloyd and Lucas' "retirements" with as much grace as we have handled Ben's. Everybody smiled and said all the right things. We're a club with a united front. Every decision is about the next premiership and as much as I personally love the Cuz, I have faith in Hardwick's plans for this club.

A bit different really. Lloyd and Lucas were career EFC players.

Cuz has only been at the RFC for two injury interupted seasons.

Could get 50,000 at the Dome for it.

50,002 if we turn up
Could get some serious sponsors on board for this.
I wonder if Dan will be allowed back on the grog?

That's true but my point was we managed to stage a departure where the player agreed to retire by his own decision and maintain club harmony while keeping the fans happy. Lloyd and Lucas both wanted to play on just like Cuz, however their departure was messy and they continued to take pot shots at the coach and club well into this season.

If someone is a one-club player then the club still comes first. It's not about any individual, and we have created this mantra at our club, unlike Essendon.

Amazing, that some want to take the clubs word on %95 of the informaton that comes out of Punt Road but the %5 that involves Ben Cousins is questioned.

Well Done Cuz. :clap

Thought you handled yourself impeccably on the presser.

Don't really give two hoots as to who's decision it was, except the fact that both parties have handled this exceptionally well. Cuz comes out glowing as do the RFC. Unheard of in years gone by.

Thanks for your couple of years as a player and mentor to some of our younger guys, hope they have walked taller thanks to your experience and knowledge, professionalism etc etc.

Time for some of our own cubs to take the limelight now.

Thank's for saying it for me Tigerhart.

Probably one of the greatest players ever. Had he been carving up teams in melbourne like he did at west coast, there would be no question of just how brilliant the guy was. He was something special in his debut year, even I knew that at the ripe old age of 17. What a player and i must say what a nice bloke.

Life isnt going to be easy post football for Ben, so i hope things go well for him. Cant wait for the next 2 games, wind back the clock Benny!
