World Cup 2018

How did Umtiti not even get a yellow for the handball? Hernandez should be sanctioned post match for his staging antics. Kept grabbing his head when there was no contact. Blatant cheating.

If France can defeat Denmark and keep them goalless, Australia are still a chance. They would have to defeat Peru and could get away with a 1/1 draw with Denmark depending how much they can defeat Peru by.

very proud. excellent performance. The back 4 was magnificent, especially Sainsbury. he should be playing in a top league and it's a mystery why he's not. I also thought Mooy and Kruse were pretty good as well as Ryan.

As for the penalty... I thought it was a pen to be honest. But it should never have been overturned by the VAR. not conclusive enough. extraordinary decision.

Fly out to Russia today. I'm pumped behind belief. sort of a bit of closure for me after having to cancel Brazil 3 days before I was due to fly out. ;D

Soft as Bat sh!t...

yeah because it never happens in footy. I mean its not like there have been any controversies in recent weeks in regards to staging. ::)

My sentiments exactly. I was surprised when the penalty was not called immediately, looked pretty clear. Then when they reviewed it, I was surprised it got overturned.

I guess if you slide from behind, don't get the ball (convincingly) and make any contact with the player, you're in trouble.

Good game by the socceroos. There's a chance yet.

Seems pretty easy for the attacker to make sure one of his legs gets caught up somewhere. If the defender gets to the ball first, is it still a penalty?
This is exactly my beef, jb. One replay shows Risdon clearly got the ball first. Any subsequent contact (and it was the slightest of brushes) was caused by the Frenchman. It was not enough to break his stride, he dived.

Works the other way too. If France beat Peru 1-0 and we beat Denmark, a draw against Peru will be enough to get through.

Serious question for the world game followers, was that a good standard game?

I thought it was pretty good. But then I mostly watch SPL which is like watching Carlton. ;D

probably wasn't as exciting as some will be based on chances created but defensively it was a good game.

Group D looking wide open at the moment, I'd love for Iceland to qualify from that group. If they can knock the argies out it would be awesome.

No. France terribly over-rated and becoming like Spain with top individual players but average national team.

Really don't understand why fifa don't want to stamp out diving and simulation? Hernandez was a disgrace.

I thought the worst decision was when we were out and the dirty frenchman just hacked our blokes legs and stops all momentum.

It was a blatant professional foul.

I dont watch soccer, but that should have been a red card given how calculated and damaging it was, surely?

And yeah, that diving frog is a blight on the code

Sleeve tatts and the softest of *smile* and no qualms

If it was a league match, no, not great but not the worst. But everyone enjoys watching an underdog take it up to the favourites so many people would have sat riveted
