I was at the World Cup in 2002 in Korea and I agree, the vibes were great. No hoolganism or anything, just a lot of happy people that were enjoying the atmosphere of being at a world cup.

i was in Korea. A few months after the world cup. i got some cheap souvenirs.

I try my best to sit through a game , but it’s just too difficult.
It’s just plain boring to me this sport

portugal moroccoo was pretty boring.

portugal play like ross lyon coached them through the oo's.

give it to ronaldo to score, defend the lead. :p

Im quite enjoying the spectacle, but the dive acting and the whinging to the refs is sooooooooooo tiresome.

Enjoying the Portugal Morocco game - pretty fast paced game

I'm almost ready to put a line through Portugal. I don't think they can win it if all they plan to do is sit back and when going forward the only plan is to give it to Ronaldo. Against the better teams they won't get away with that, should really have been beaten by Morocco who in my opinion were by far the better team, they just couldn't finish their dinner.

It was the first time the Japanese have won a game against a Sth American team in the World Cup. Maybe that was it?

I was also at the 2002 WORLD Cup in Japan. Great time and managed to get (pay through the nose) tickets to the Brazil v Germany final.

The final would have been awesome. I got to the South Korea v Germany semi which was amazing with the home support and I also got to the 3rd / 4th playoff between South Korea v Turkey which again the atmosphere was amazing but the game was also a cracker too.

Must win game for the Socceroos. Danes 1-0 already.....with a Stan Butler type chip pass.

What are the flags or pennants the captains exchange before the kick off? And what happens to them?

Just An old tradition, something to commemorate the match. Normally kept ina teams museum/trophy room.

Not the best start. That ball was hit way too hard for Ryan to get his hands up in time. But good signs, we’ve been penetrating their defense. Arzani and Cahill will cause them some headaches if they come on.

The ball was headed onto the Danes arm...is that a penalty?

Yes, the arm impeded the flight of the ball towards goal. Penalty.

The arm that hit the ball was in an unnatural position according to the ref so deemed deliberate hence yellow card

HT

Evenly poised now.

Aus upped the pressure and where getting multiple opportunities

1-1

HT has come at a god time for the Danes though.

Good to see the Aussies step up a gear.

Second half should be a cracker - can we do it.

Given we are getting plenty of high ball across their goals could it be Cahill time

Year I think its Cahill time year of the tiger. Unleash the C.

Hope the momentum we had , with the HT break effect us.

Need to come out switched on.

No, too early for Timmy. 15mins I reckon. Max damage. A bit like Nic Nat. Arzani needs to come on

Surprisingly the Ref has been pretty fair and not awarded frees based on reputation.
