WK4 Finals: Going For Gold.

How many since the pre finals bye was introduced?
Footscary were lucky as there good players hit form almost immediately.
Looking back at it, Footscary vs Sydney GF.
Who's brave enough to win GF.
2 of the most flakest Sides to play in a GF.
Throw in Collingwood, they wet the bed playing themselves in a GF.
Real clubs Like Richmond turn up to GF, snatch and grab and then win.

We should be alongside Hawthorn as the yard stick to success, not these corn flake sides like Geelong & Sydney

I had a great personal experience. My son played in the auskick at half time.
Gosh it was a loud crowd

The best part about yesterday's grand final was - at the final siren Collingwood stopped being reigning premiers....

I’m just glad geeelong didn’t make it. They would have won by 10+ goals and Scott would be hailed the greatest living coach of our time.

Have seen some desperate, pathetic fools grasp at the "Oh but we're still the reigning Victorian premiers". Dead-set, how hard-up for something to hang your hat on in life must someone have to be to come out with that ...

What's the formula for GF success these days? Is it the unstoppable forwards who are super fast and difficult to blanket? The ultra grunt midfield who just keep pumping it forward? Or would you go for the iron clad defense who mark everything?

Speed. The lions moved it so fast that the swans defence were errrr defenceless

I think its a bit of all 3 and 1 reason why we need to settle Balta back IMO. I think the last few years have shown us that the key forwards are now less important than they've ever really been, and ball movement, strong defence and small, quick dangerous forwards are the big part of todays game.

We probably already have the key defensive recruits at the club that can provide what we need. Hopefully we draft the mids this year, then its about focusing on getting smalls to the club.

I’ve seen some of them claim the 1990 Premiership should be worth more, because it was the first AFL one.

Fast midfielders who can run through the corridor in a straight line towards goal. Daicos, Ashcroft.

Correct. Lions tackled the Swans off the park yesterday. Heaney was swamped everytime he was near the play. They literally shut the Swans offensive play in its tracks.
I think Heeney was swamped antime he was on the park.
But yes the Lions pressure was fantastic. And the Swans' wasn't.
