When will Bernie go !!

The many blithe and pithy statements concerning Dimma fail to acknowledge that we are very well positioned at this stage in the season, particularly when you consider results right across the competition. We win a final with our list and he earns the right to see out his contract IMO.

We've thrown away 8 points. It's not that 5 -3 isn't OK. It's that it is a very compressed field this year.

7 -1 looks a lot better and the players would be floating on air.

There was a simple message weeks 1 - 5. Hardwick muddied it in rd 6 and beyond.

As many of us feared he just cant help himself.

I respect everyone who posts on this forum Lamby. They do so because they have enormous passion for the club I love. Of course it would be everyone's preference to be 7-1. I just think it is ridiculous to undermine the coach when the challenge is still there before us. I also think it is ridiculous to suggest that he is solely responsible for all of the clubs failings. Yes agree that the buck stops with him. If he fails this yr then the inevitable change will occur. Until then he has my unequivocal support.

The problems is when he fails this year he still has another year left on his contract. 2 more years left with this dud!

Negative reinforcement is very powerful. Hardwick is not a man motivator he is a systems guy. Hardwicks biggest fault is that he knows we cannot win a flag without defensive structures, yet whenever he implements his defensive gameplan the wheels fall off. Positive energy creates positive results maybe Hardwicks problem is he cant sell his message to an audience that is not listening. I really belive we can win the flag this year. It is as open a season as last year. Our goal should be nothing less than total committment to a flag.

Any chance of flag gone.

They made a movie about it

Gone in 21 seconds.

Realistically, given the players at our disposal and their histories in big, high pressure games, winning a flag with this group was never likely, regardless if we are at 5-3 or 7-1.

Still carry a lot of players who have shown time and time again in high pressure games that they can't handle it.

Too many fumblers and panickers.

Nah, bloody ridiculous toby. We've had a premiership capable list the last four years n Dimma keeps finding subtle and devious ways to stuff us up every year all by himself :sarcasm.

At full strength we've got a reasonably competent team, not premiership quality but reasonably capable. Cop an injury or two in the mid tier of our senior players n we struggle every time to perform consistently.

Flossy, Concareter, Griffinator, Prestia, Shedda, mature experienced senior players that help provide the platform beneath the elite players. If a core group like this are out or struggling we go backwards at a rate of knots every time.

Morris was obviously a failure as a forward.

Geez it's not like Dimma has been to that particular well before and with the same result I might add.

The game has gone past the likes of Morris, Hunt and Batch and playing is a sad indictment of a coach that can't let go of the past and a style of footy / footballer that is no longer relevant.

The bulldogs did it. Their list is nothing special. When u rely on Boyd being a top three player on gf day there is plenty of hope for us.
Dimma is why these fumblers played, the assistants seem to be slowly weeding these hacks out. Hopefully by years end the deadwood is Lin the vfl and the kids keep Stepping up.

spot on. This was especially pronounced in the bulldogs game. yes a lot of things didn't go our way (umpires, etc), but we can't ignore the fact that when the heat was on in the last quarter, we fumbled the ball time after time, while they were slick with their hands. Freo did the same against us in the last quarter on Sunday, only for us to snatch defeat from the jaws if Victory.

"Hardwick said the Tigers had learned plenty from the last 21 seconds against Fremantle.

"We went through some things we didn't get quite right (but) we move on pretty quickly.
There were things there we definitely could have fixed, there's no doubt about that. We didn't quite get our set up right but there are 18 moving parts and they have to move pretty quickly with 20 seconds to go. Unfortunately we didn't nail it on this occasion."

Sorry Damian, they had far more than 20 seconds to get into position. That's a copout that they only had 20 seconds to set up. Anyway these are super fit AFL players, if they couldn't get into position with 20 seconds (even though there was actually over a minute between Bellis goal and the next ball up) there's something wrong. Yes it's unfortunate we didn't nail it on this occasion But I'm glad we've learned from it ....

he's had 8 years to fix it. which begs the question... has a coached ever lasted this long (165 games) without a finals win? he's getting into Robbie Flower territory.

Huge task for the Tigers to win against Giants but heavy track could see an upset win. Penny falls the wrong way for Tigers in other games Tigers could be out of the eight which will be a devastating impact on the coaching group so it would be an approppiate time to hear from our dearest Peggy or her manservant Brendan dahling.

Yes astounded that the players did not react with greater urgency or understanding after Ellis put them in front. *smile* the celebration. Still 21 sec left on the clock. Team sprint should have occurred to the back half. Should be drilled into the minds of all RFC players.

Coaching group and leaders on the ground all at fault.

What about the other X occasions we didn't nail it?

What about the nearly dozen games before. ?

We will learn from it?

We as supporters are sick to death hearing these cliches !

Let us see what they dish up Saturday!

Optimistic but pessimistic .
