When will Bernie go !!

You think the list is fine?
I was specifically commenting on our team selection and tactics against Adelaide.

And since you asked, everyone knows our KP stocks are not there but with the playing list we have and the results to date, Hardwicks game plan of the last 12 months has costs us many wins. You can also add yesterday's result to that list as well.

Come on TS. Morris aside he completely stuffed up a structure that was working so well over the last 5 weeks.

Not only does Eltons omission rob our forward line but it was detrimental to our rucks. Seeing Grigg go up as our second ruck was comical. Lamb to the slaughter. And what benefit does that provide to our mids?

And what about Nankervis? Adelaide worked him over and destroyed him. His frustration no doubt felt when he elbowed the Adelaide player.

Ellis on Lynch. One must shake their head.

Smokin', you didn't answer the question, does it get a different result?

Elton has been hanging by a thread, and thats being generous, against poor-to-average sides. A very raw and inconsistent Chol or Soldo debut in that pressure-cooker game? That would also be lambs to the slaughter.

agree Aces.

not one person is saying we would've won with that extra tall, but we ending up kicking long to CHF and a tall would've enabled us to keep their key backs honest and trap the ball in more often. we are very good at pressing high and keeping the pressure on F50 so our strengths were in effect neutralized not by Adelaide, but by team selection!

amazing stuff.

you just don't get it, TS.

another tall = halve more entry contests

halve more entry contests = more spillages

more spillages = trap the ball in more often

trap the ball in more often = high press

high press = sustained territory win

sustained territory win = adelaide not scoring

adelaide not scoring = scoreboard pressure

scoreboard pressure = different game entirely

all from that crucial element - height at the aerial contest.

?? didnt you just agree with SA saying Hardwick cost us the win?

our game style yesterday certainly needed to 2nd tall. i assume they wanted to run the ball more, or at least kick long to advantage, but after the 1st quarter we resorted to bombing blindly.

That is your usual angst at PRE not being a positive, rainbow-happy, affirming place, not anyone else's.

Personally I reckon anyone who thinks we have a "great list" is off smoking unicorn horns and worshipping the rainbow somewhat too hard as well.

Hang on, where's your larger post discussing the list?

I was about to dismantle it like it deserved but it's gone :hihi

Yeah was hoping to avoid one of our usual cut and thrusts Baron :)

NB note a quick edit avoids the usual "edited by such-and-such at timestamp"

That's not like you but I applaud your restraint.

so playing one of Elton/ Chol/ Soldo wouldn't have changed the result. What are we debating again?

Cheers. To be serious, I feel we are quite a few players away from a "great list", but I'd agree we've got one with some great players and also great potential. We definitely need key position forwards though - and a second ruck (maybe this is Soldo).

I reckon the combined coaching team has done well to get us to 5:1. 5:4 I wouldn't be happy with.

that you don't go into a game with 1 key forward and 1 key ruckman.

Moderate team playing good footy meets top quality team playing excellent footy. Yep we matched them for all of one qtr, and then the hammer came down.

Was hoping we were good enough to run with them n keep them honest n quite impressed with our first qtr efforts. Crows then slammed up into second gear n hit the throttle hard. They out worked us, out ran us, out thought us, out skilled us n everything else you care to think of. We simply disintegrated in all facets of the game, back to our absolute worst of last year with nary a whimper.

'That's not us.'

Who was it then?

Seriously Damien we have heard this crap so many times.

I don't think we should take any notice any longer of the post -game pressers.
What the coach tells the reporters isn't going to resemble what he tells the players.
It's another distraction and the AFL should Get rid of them.

agree with both points Baz. :shakehead

You laughy faced me a couple of weeks in a row, for saying Elton wasnt hopeless and was giving us a contest and a chop out.

Your narrative is as fluid as Lismore's CBD.

Very nice indeed, only you were responding to Smoking Aces, not me.

Guess it's tine for another laughy face :hihi

Btw Chol or Soldo would've done a serviceable job.

I just don't buy Soldo as a centre half forward somehow. Chol neither at this stage in his career. Kind of why I don't think we have a great list when we have one genuine key forward.
