When will Bernie go !!

I once had a teammate attempt to force a Lamington up my rectum in the showers. To my eternal consternation, he was moderately successful.

make of that what you will. :don't know

was it after a win or a loss?

So apart from regaling us with tales of you sexual exploits with a lamington you haven't answered my question about what being in charge of ball movement means if it's not game plan.

Oh and by the way, Lucas being Caracella's best mate makes him more likely to know what Caracella's role actually is.

Fake news my .....

It's not relevant to the commentary on Dimma except that he is surrounded by good people now and Caracella seems to be one of those. Successful people are inevitably surrounded by good people.

If Caracella is doing great things for the team then terrific for Dimma because he is the head coach and he gets to reap the rewards just as when he has poor assistant coaches he gets to take responsibility for that.

Did you let him live?

he was the CHF from the commission homes on the western fringe of town, I was the middle class wingman.

I dreamt of leaving a summer roll on his bike seat, but it remained a dream.

Ball movement is generally the way the ball is transitioned from defence through the midfield into the F50. The team is playing on at every opportunity now which is Caracellas job. Not only that but organising the midfield to get back on block to fill defensive zones a la 4-3-2-1. If you remember from the Collingwood game we got the ball forward to Castagna in the clear but he dropped the mark at HF. Collingwood then took it out the other side but transitioned very slowly through 3 sets of kick marks to Fasolo wide at HF. When he looked up yo could see Cotchin and the midfield flooding into their F50. he had no option but to bomb it long to the square resulting in a win for us and D50 clearance. Last year the Pies would have scored a goal with a chip into a leading forward in the key.
That's the difference between 2016 & 2017 - so far!

Caracella may be making a big difference but he is not the head coach, Hardwick is.

Point is that he took the brickbats when the ball movement was garbage so he must get plaudits when it isn't. You can't have it both ways, either the Head Coach is ultimately responsible for good and bad or he isn't.

Too many blaming Dimma for the bad and lining up to applaud others for the good imo.

That just means that Dimma has finally got the team to buy into the defensive run efforts he's been trying to instill since Carlscum and a few other teams opened us up in 2013.

Good around the contested ball and clearances.
Good at the kamikaze charge into the forward line with defensive forward pressure to lock the ball in.

Finally getting good at the defensive running without the ball to, pressure the ball carrier causing a stuff up or cheap no gain possession, or fill their forward half leaving them minimal options.

So far so good, we might finally have a fairly balanced all team effort each week. Means we get to enjoy our footy as the team stays in the contest for longer, might even get to finals n play a bit deeper at years end.
Something everyone would probably enjoy, even the haters that want Dimma sacked yesterday.

Amazing how much better this average list (your words) look playing to very good game style isn't it TM. ;)

Still rate it as average Leysy, not elite. Must be all of Dimma's good coaching that has improved them back up to around the same mark of 2013 / 2015.

Doesn't hurt the teams performance having a healthy list to start the season, having a trio of new experienced players adding depth n support to our second tier, having a bunch of talented youngsters who were blooded last year able to provide an extra kick along as well. Having an easier draw as well won't do our chances any harm.

Early days yet, but it appears the comp has leveled off dramatically this year. Crows n Giants look to be capable of doing some serious damage this year while three finals stalwarts look to have hit the wall big time.
Leaves a massive group that are all trying to climb over the backs of one another. Consistency of effort will have a big impact this year, dropping games against low ranked should beat sides
(something we're masters of ) could have a huge bearing on finals chances.

Just out of curiosity though Leysy.
I was wondering how all those elite finals n premiership coaches of recent years were going this year? You know the ones, Clarko, Longmire, Lyon.
What about some of those other u beaut star coaches Scott B. Scott C. Bevo, I've got a feeling from watching some of their games that they're all in pretty patchy form at the moment.

Always has been and always will be a combination of list and coach together for success. The elite quality list can carry a moderate coach, moderate lists will always bring down an elite quality coach.

So your saying that after we bought in a load of fast kids and after a year getting games into them, we recruit 3 decent AFL footballers in one off season and the club upgrades our assistants and seams to have found some quality...

the list does not look so average?

Or are you saying that only difference is that Blake is showing how good the list has been all along and that Beavis is a Butthead?

I think the dury is still out with some on our list, but what Leppa & Blake have broughtbis that a line has been put through certain players that dont fit their system. Just who wefe coacing our mids & forwards because they have been shown up in record time. Dimma willbe a better coach after this thats for certain. But if we are successful we may lose them to senior positions :(

Not if we give one of them the senior job at Richmond

Great title, someone should use it to make a t.v. show ;D.

Just on the quality of the list, pretty sure there's a quote from Dimma sometime early last year that it was " the best list " Dimma had in his time coaching us. Must have been around the time when everything was just starting to fall apart with injuries, kids coming in and the players losing all confidence n starting to play ring a rosie instead of foot ball.

Maybe Dimma was ahead of the curve after all n he could see what none of us could even imagine.
