When will Bernie go !!

Hardwick was terrible for 4 years, and deserved the pressure he had on him.

We all judge on what we have available too us, clearly we didn't realize how bad the assistants were going until we see the difference with the new ones.

Hardwick also realized he needs to be flexible and not so stubborn.

Neil Balme would also have a lot to do with the improvement.

Hardwick is lucky to have his job, It is great to see he has taken the second chance with 2 hands and has made some major changes, still needs to be more open to game day changes, example Rance on Taylor 4 weeks ago, He has however become better at making changes after a loss, something he struggled with over 3 consecutive finals losses.

If anyone says I told you so and I knew he was a possible premiereship coach based on his performance over the last 6 seasons, I call BULLDUST.

Thats the stuff we want jamo! I missed this. I thought Dimma was a possible flag coach. Didn't know, you can't of course, and the key word is possible. We haven't won it yet, long way to go, but looking like more of a possibility. Said it all along, legitimate structural obstacles, came from a long way back, people learn on the job and learn from mistakes, and most of all I believe in redemption.

Finals 4 times in the last 5 years and he's a terrible coach?

Good to see not all the moandrones are flip floppers.

Dimma in full proud dad mode.

Love this photo. I had the same thought when I first saw it up on the scoreboard.

In an interview this morning Grimes was asked what change from last year to this. He said it was all about the playing group and coaches coming together and really bonding. Mentioned how Dimma and the clubs goal to recruit quality people, not just quality players, is really starting to bear fruit. I reckon Leppacella are learning a lot from Dimma this year

Happy to let him enjoy the win and spin the past however he wants so he thinks people think he was right all along. Even if he was "100% certain we should trade Dusty + Jack at the end of this year" only two months ago.

One big tiger family on the same pathway of hope to a 2017 premiership right now.

Yes, let's enjoy it eh?

And don't be so hung up on what I say. I am just a git on the terraces. Often wrong but I try to look outside the square.

Very true Al. This has been building for a while. A lot of us have been saying for a long time that it's not the coach alone - it's the coach, his team of coaches around him and the team of players around them.

Football success is alchemy - it's technique, structure, passion, culture and camaraderie. I'm just so pleased for the whole group - Dimma included.

Good to see a change of avatar and sig. Forge your own identity, Antman.

But we have to put all that aside. I'm very footy superstitious, we have to keep the weirdest, dumbest thread on PRE rolling.

It was a meaningless win, anyone who says different is just wallowing in mediocrity. Peggy is third rate 'cos we're broke, Benny is out of his depth, Dimma is Leppacella's Gerry Gee etc etc. ;D

I agree 100%.

bernie's and the whole board need to be herded off Sorento cliffs on Monday.

I couldve coached that side to win on friday night.

cinchy bub stuff.

youse all want to wallow on a sea of putrid puss called The Mediocre Sea of Mediocrity? go right ahead. Cheerleader unicorn crew, go and get *smile* and wake up to yourselves.

Let's just draw a breath and remember that in 2017 Hardwick has been surrounded by some excellent people, both on the coaching staff and within the Football Department.

That happened because Hardwick, the club obviously decided, needed this assistance, and advice and experience and to IMPOSE upon him a different game style; one that has been a success so far in 2017. What he had been dishing up previously had proven to be a huge failure in his previous finals as coach.

I prefer enjoying hard-won success without wearing rose coloured glasses.

Lets not forget that the hardnut has been building the culture and developing the kids for a long time before the new assistants came to the club! You need a lot of things going right at a club to do well in September!

To dismiss the efforts of Dima and fall for the arse covering excuse of some posters that its all due to the new assistants shows no understanding of what a successful club is or where they come from!

Only the best clubs are genuine contenders. This doesn't happen in 12 months after 36 years of being one of the worst.

A few years ago many on here jumped on the super coach Hinkley bandwagon.
last year it was Beveridge.

If this is you, please keep off Bernie Bandwagon..

Hinkley is actually a four flag coach in the bag being hamstrung by dud assistants.. I can retro fit any logic around baby.

I guess not letting the truth get in the way of a good story probably accounts for the fact you gloss over the situation at the club at the end of the 2016 season?

Harwick's arse was on the line as was his game plan, his one dimensional game day coaching and his continually selecting under-performing players. Does Vickery ring a bell? Let's not forget he was handed a 2 year extension to his contact at the beginning of 2016 which tied the hands of those that made that call; to keep him but to introduce some seriously needed help. Those changes imposed upon Hardwick with new coaching staff arriving, along with Balme; an injection of speed with new, young players that were played consistently in 2017 have worked wonders.

Whatever culture Hardwick was building was not winning the big games and finals and that culture of his was changed radically over the 2017 pre-season and I would suggest he more than anybody else knows how fortunate he is to still be head coach. I'm enjoying what has been achieved so far with my eyes wide open, without any false delusions.

I think Hardwick is counting his lucky stars and if that makes him a premiership coach then I'll be happy, in the short-term, and unlike the Bulldogs, I'll be looking for more Tiger success in 2018.
