When will Bernie go !!

Bernie would be rapt with the arm wrestle we are putting on against a pitiful opponent tonight. Just his cup of tea.
Look credit where credits due Gold Coast are a very good side......

The jobs far from finished, however at this point it's been a very good performance from the coaching staff, not many thought we'd make the 8 let alone be sitting a game clear in 4th spot with 4 rounds to go.

After last years poor performance the reinventing of players and a creative flipped up game plan has scene a highly competitive unit created. Big test against the master next week.

Yep, only a couple of tiny little things that Bernie hasn't been able to coach into the side so that we can obliterate opponents by ten goals or more n be confident of winning finals. Skill execution n decision making, get them two right n we'd be good enough to have an era all to ourselves. Instead of just being hard honest tradies of the game.

Our best footy is ahead of us!
I know this is a cynical canning but I have no doubt it is true.

I am surprised we are 12-6 although I did expect us to be around about the 8. Who knows where we will go this year but our list is building nicely and I am really excited about where it can take us, especially if we recruit well in the offseason

I don't know what people like the Can will do with themselves if we are even more successful in the future? May have to can the can

Good posting Baron, good trolling Anty.

Two of my favourite coaching quotes were Tommy Dockerty in England who promised he'd take a team out of division two. After the team was relegated to Division 3 he proudly claimed he was true to his word (tongue in cheek).

The second was not tongue in cheek Walls who inherited a team that finished 3rd and after missing the top 8 proudly proclaimed he now had a team capable of challenging for the 8 the following year (got sacked with 5 games to go).

Thanks Lamby.

Another first for Dimma - last night he proved you don't need a single specialist key forward to win a game of football. Dimma the Inna-vator. Dimmavator.

Leppacellla doing great work at the moment. If Bernie is lucky they may let him be whiteboard magnet boy next season.

Speaking of which, is that our former whiteboard Albino I see as Camerons righthand man? No wonder they are struggling.

weirdsville. Nice anecdotes, but what have they got to do with anything?

Was trying to relate the Robert Walls story about being set to make the finals the next to Dimma and his promise last year, but that still makes no sense.

Yep. If the fans were pleased with last night then you really have low standards. A top 4 team should be beating teams out of contention by 10 goals. I'm sure someone will mention Melbourne, and that's fair enough. Bank the 4 points, etc and move on. But i will lose my sh!t if percentage costs us top 4.

Hardwick is about minimising risk.

The way we play is designed to keep games in reasonable control. Yes, we have gears, but Hardwick does not coach for balls-out smashings.

This is why we can match any team in September. The problem is that Hardwick dilutes our talent by priorotising team defence.

September will come down to who puts in the most dexterous performance in the box, because we know it will be close.

In many ways Hardwick's dour recipe is good at the scale of an entire season, but it's in the individual moments of a pressure cooker final where his philosophy has come unstuck in the past.

September is all about who dares wins. Have our players got enough licence to play risky football?

We might manage a balls out smashing one day if we ever learn to execute the skills properly. Teams playing with a massive amount of grit, determination n effort nearly every week, not a lot of polish though.
Coulda, woulda, shoulda torn a decimated Mould Coast side to shreds last night, but we play tradie footy. Plenty of Toyota, Ford, Holden n Mitsubishi utes, not to many AMG Mercs, M series Bimmers or Porches in our mob. Certainly no Rollers , Foorraries or Lambos.

Be interesting to see how we are judged when our season finishes ? At this point it's definitely a positive year, however from here if we missed finals ?

Gotta make the finals for it to be even vaguely a "positive year". Once finals commence it is a clean slate, a new agenda, greater expectations ...

Did you think we'd make finals at the start of the year BT ?
