When will Bernie go !!

Credit must go to Dimma for our current ladder position.

But ultimate assessment needs to wait until our finals campaign is over.

We must retain the double chance. No reason why we can't win four of the last five.
Yep, we,re in a good spot but don't start counting chicks just yet.

So we can't count our chickens for being in a good spot, but we should win four of the last five?

Just checking which chickens I'm allowed to count.....

Count them at the end of the season.

You know what I Like. Bernie puffs out his chest proudly at pressers now and says "Look it's all about letting the players play to their strengths!"

As Richie would say " Marvellous!"

Yes, playing Morris in the forward line, Jack up the ground, Griff in the back like, Deledio in the centre bounces etc did my head in.

Redemption Band ... wasn't it? ... I thought ...

OK, maybe not.

Lead Zeppelin?

Anyway. Maybe foolhardy posting this here ATM, just before tonight's risky game up at Metricon against a team we struggle to beat, but I know how much the naysayers love this sort of thing and I hate to disappoint:

That's clearly evident. No dispute from me.

love how the media are all lauding Hardwick as a master coach because we weren't expected to place highly this season and he's "done wonders with the list". well, we were 5th, 8th and 5th in three seasons before that, probs shoulda been top four in 2013 and 2015. the form line was there. the core list is the same.

we failed last year because Hardwick overcooked everything, as is his wont. we have succeeded this year because he has learned to relax and delegate the finer elements of the game.

he is still a coach in progress in his eighth year. not exactly ideal but we'll see where it takes us in september.

Exactly Baron.

Like I always tell Lamby, Dimma did fantastically well to get the list up into the finals three years running, narrowly missing out on the top four due to the lack of an in-form Astbury and a maturing Dusty and Cotch having to do too much. Soup-cans like Tyrone, Griffins and McBean didn't help us up front either. But great coaching to get us as far as he did. The form line was there.

Last year the rest of the comp woke up to the methodical game plan Dimma had to use due to his limited list - but he reinvented his style and the game plan. Dusty hitting his peak and with support from Caddy and Prestia freed up him and Cotch. The coming of age of our speculative rookies/late picks George and the Butler, along with Rioli and cameos from Steggles and $hai all played a part. Even the lack of anything resembling a CHF couldn't stop Dimma, and the extraordinary form of Astbury this season helps our defence be the awesome unit that Dimma has painstakingly built over the last few years.

Amazing imagination and innovation from Bernie

Bernie would be rapt with the arm wrestle we are putting on against a pitiful opponent tonight. Just his cup of tea.
