West Coast Game Day Thread

Loved the game of a few who cop it on here. King again played very well as did White, Vickery and Mcguane. White to Nason in the third was a class above.

Wouldn't mind seeing players Jacks age and games who have kicked 10. Don't think it would be a huge list.

Done 33 times by 22 players, but we'd be pretty happy if Jack emulated most of those players (except Coleman's knee injury  :-X).

With forward lines now choked, the 11 years since Lloyd is the longest gap on the list.

Great work LTRTR. Amazing list. Elite company.

I love throwing LTRTR challenges ;D! What about the last bloke to lead the coleman this far into a season whose team is on the bottom? I rekcon Plugger may have done it but don't think there has been too many. Might be a bit hard to set the fields too.

But Jack Riewoldt is doing some amazing things right now. Elite springs to mind.

Another highlight of today, the amount of blocks and screens being thrown at stoppages. No suprise we are way up in the clearances with this happening. Cotchin and Martin use each others opponent to get space at the dead ball.

why is Collins called lloydy's boy?

Because a year or 2 ago Lloyd was up at a friend's on the Gold Coast and he saw Andy kicking the ball with some mates (must have been on a break) and asked if he played football anywhere - too which Andy replied that he was Andrew Collins and actually on Richmond's List!

That was explained during the call on SEN against the Saints after Andy had kicked his first goal - for the rest of the game he was called 'Lloydy's boy Collins'

Have really enjoyed the last 2 games with players confident enough to put the ball long to Jack one-out. The excitement generated in the crowd is palpable whenever it looks like they might kick it long to him because the last couple of weeks he's been able to take the mark and then goal.

Nice mark on the wing by gus and a great bit of shepherding in front of goal to allow TV to mark and goal.

Good to see Nason bounce back after a quiet week against the Saints, some nice work from Edwards and some nice touches from Matt White.

Great day at the footy - brought back memories of Richo's 10 against the Doggies.

Nice to see Roach's name in there a couple of times.
BT also in there.

Celebrating with a lovely bottle of Punt Road 2005 Shiraz. Tiges win, Jack 10 goals, choosing songs for my upcoming wedding. Doesn't get much better right now.

One day I'll get around to adding league ladders to my database, but for now I don't have them. But Fevola led (and ultimately won) the Coleman while Carlton was on the bottom after R17, 19, 20, 21 & 22 in 2006.

Good to see Dan Jackson get his first win for the year, tries as hard as anyone out there I reckon.

Greg Miller! Come back! All is forgiven!

my word, we were tossing up between ben reid and Jack, our pic made much easier as collingwood picked ben reid, so Jack welcome to tigerland (2006 draft)

Just good to see a Richmond player dominate and have the power of the crowd behind him. Very loud 30k today.

scoop i said that 2day re the crowd almost 31K but sounded like 40,000+ very vocal and loud

Wow, what a great day. I was soooo pumped. Like everyone, hoped we could win ( and play well ) but was also worried we would underperform and be back to square one. But what happened totally exceeded expectations.

3 things.

1. Win. Obvious but was just so enjoyable.

2. Jack. Again obvious. Good on ya Jack.

3. That it was the kids that did the job. Jack, Dusty, Cotch, Lids, Edwards, Nason etc etc etc.

You just wouldn't believe it is the same players we saw in the first few rounds.

2010 was always about the start of the rebuild. A year for development and improvement. You just couldn't ask for more at the moment.

Jack obviously sums up the curent situation perfectly. 4 6 4 6 and 10. Who would of predicted that.

A player like Edwards. I though he was going no where early in the year. Too small. Too light. Doesn't get the ball enough. I eat my words. His improvement is great in recent weeks.

Even Dusty, Cotch etc are just getting better and better.

Lids. He is turning into a real leader in the backline.

Talk of not winning a game was fair enough a few weeks ago. Now, our boys are just growing and growing. They were just so confident today. They believe. The are growing and developing together and again, they believe.

I just love watching it. I am so happy for they boys. We will still be up and down, but the boys truely believe they will become a good side in a year or 2.

Finally, nearly 31000 there today. A pretty good crowd. Sounded like 80000 at times. Happy for all those loyal tiger fans to have a great day today. Not just because we won, but because we can see the future. Surely those involved in Dustys contract negotiations would tell him that today is what it will be like most weeks in a few years. Today was a taste of what this club can be, and what his career can be with us. Big crowds, big noise, huge atmosphere, and loud and proud supporter base gettting right behind you at the home of footy. Or you can go and play in front of know one, where know one cares, in no where land, where there is nothing. I know what I would prefer.

It's wins like these that make me miss old grumpy bum from Perth

The old Clawmiester would still be stripping at least a dozen duds out of the team and ranting about the recruiters not picking up Sampi, Travis Gaspar or Bradshaw in recent drafts.
Perhaps he may drop in for a visit one day and suggest we recruit that Woosha fella to coach us properly.

Just a great day.Brought the family down from Albury for the weekend & my daughter witnessed her 1st win & with Jack kicking 10 topped it off,go Tigers

Stop being a tool Jinxy - frees against count as clangers and a couple againt him were shockers when he was maginifcaent in fighting for the ball againt the odds. His disposal was pretty good and he always looks to put a teamate in a better position and then supports. Stop listening to the peanuts and atually watch the game.

I did watch the game--- and my memory is longer than a day.

King tried hard - which is always great to see. But unless he starts making better decisions (what is it with him and handballing to teammates under pressure?), increases his disposal efficiency and stops giving away stupid free kicks, he'll only ever be a stop gap until something better comes along.
