Welcome Tom Brown

There's no doubt these kids need the odd exposure to snr footy to keep them interested & keep improving.
Brown just has to look at Banks for inspiration. Work hard, play consistent footy & opportunities will come.

Vlastuin isn't explosive, nor a high possession player.

If Brown can intercept like Flossy, then he won't need to be a running, rebounding defender like Short/Rioli, so it sounds like intercept marking is the aspect of his game you'd like to see improve.

If so, intercept marking is an aspect of someone's game that will likely improve greatly as their body fills out. It would make sense for such a player to appear less impressive early in his career.
Vlastuin is a gun and was pretty much so from day 1.

Kid has copped some flack on here but he is above VFL level. Kid can play. Beautiful user of the football and has poise. He is a good size now. Expect a fair bit of senior football next year.

Taller wingman, if he's a good user and good overhead, would be a good place for those attributes.

Could he play there?

Tigers need wingman now that can be offensive as well as cover off space defensively and ideally be able to hurt the opposition with the footy.

Brown and Banks might be options going forward if they are up for the work.

Worth considering - just depends on his running ability

Spot on. Oozes AFL attributes. Time, composure, execution. It’s starting to come together after some long awaited luck and continuity

No doubt the Cats will be in for him if he starts to show quality.

whenever i've questioned the Tom Brown selection, it's never been about his talent, it's always been about the TYPE we picked, ahead of another TYPE, of which we have a glaring hole on our list

Definitely has poise and no doubt he is a beautiful user of the ball.
But I’d like him to control more of the air with overhead marking.
That’s why I have Trisize in front of him.

Can’t we have both??

The overhead marking is the next step for him. But he definitely gets air time. Whilst not marking it he still has the timing to get third man up for that crucial spoil.

Only player from top 20 of his draft to have not played AFL.

Checked RFC listed as 193cm 81kg if true he’s same height as Van Rooyen
Brown just needs to put on a bit more weight

And? Who cares.

It's how they finish mate, not how they start. Not that I'm saying he's comparable, but plenty of players start off slow. Cotchin was injured heaps. Nankervis couldn't get a game for Sydney.

Fair dinkum, if jvr was picked one pick before Brown, there wouldn't be any of this crap for this poor kid.
