Welcome to Tigers: Jason Castagna

hes a disruptive influence in the forward line. That in itself creates uncertainty which the oppo defence doesn't know how to combat..

George is an interesting one. He could be redefining the type of player clubs look to recruit. Manic pressure types over skilled goal kickers. 2nd tall forwards and mediums / smalls that don't apply constant pressure will be getting worried. Menzel, Fasolo etc.

Heard buckly a few weeks back say that's an area they really need to improve in

George the individual footballer is not doing much, however George the one part of the 3 amigos is getting the job done, I personally don't rate him highly as a player, however his endeavour and work ethic is Morris like, would think there's in no chance he would get dropped now and nore should he, his a crucial small cog in what has worked this year.

In all seriousness, he is just as likely to go nuts in the prelim and, touch wood, GF. He is as unpredictable as they come and if he gets a couple of easy ones early could go on a Townsend-like rampage.

George is the hard worker of the 3 amigos every game he goes for contested marks and puts his body on the line, no way that Bolton can stand the punishment that George is taking every game.

So true Casper, Bolton has far more natural talent & far less manic pressure, George is almost kamakaze in his attack on both the man & the ball

Alot of talk bolton to replace george but I would replace him with Short.

Although I support the 'no change' consensus, Short will be more value added than Miles, Lloyd, Stengle, and Bolton. Has the tools. Has speed, is versatile - can play forward and down back, and can thump the ball. This is a good dilemma we have.

what you reckon old mate??

I'm a massive Bolton fan 8ty.
Some of the things I've seen him do in recent weeks at VFL level have been jaw droppingly good.
My biggest query is do we have enough attacking options to post a score against the Giants.
George for all his pressure has contributed 1 goal in 5 weeks of footy.
That's a meager output for a small forward. Shai's defensive work is much improved & he is bloody dangerous around goals. Very creative. He will demand a good defender to stop him from scoring.
It's a ballsy call but the kind that could make a positive difference to the result.

if Castagna keeps his spot then the pressure of upping his output, score board impact and cleaner use of the football, in front of 100K... and he delivers, then kudos to him. There is a chance he can try and do "too much" to the determine of the team. Keep it simple, back his agility and back that playing every game in 2017 he knows he role and how to support the other 21.

If he puts too much pressure on himself I dont think he will get the best out of himself. I also dont want him taking too many set shots either. Happy with 3 snaps for 2 goals.

We tried to be cute by elevating Griffiths and Conca in an EF.
Best to stay with what's tried and tested...........and failed to fire

Bolton comes in

If we bring Bolton in for George then it has be match up related. It's very risky to break apart the 3 mossies as they have a very good understanding of whats needed when and where. A bit like Tross, Dave and Grimes.

Bolton.
6 AFL 2017 games - 26 kicks, 25 hand balls - Ave Dis: 8.5
in those 6 games
- 12 marks
- 3 goals 4 behinds
- 15 tackles (2.5 per game)
F For 2
F Against 5
Inside 50 - 7 (1.2 per game)

HE looks electric and VFL... VFL to AFL is a huge step. Conca-Griff - just leave it if its not broken.
