Bolton has fantastic potential but hasn't learnt to play to team rules yet so IMO George must stay in.

Yes examples in last couple of games also show he tends to lose concentration a bit too. Last week was two silly 50metre penalties which cost goals, this week in the third he failed to get on the mark when it was his turn and the opposition gained an extra 15 metres, almost cost a goal. Needs to work on his concentration imo.

Last night JC had 6 disposals at 50% DE (but 5 turnovers...don't know how when you have 5 turnovers from 6 disposals you get 50% but anyway).

Fumble fingers, should rightly get the ball but fumble without getting a disposal which then goes to the opposition I think would be classed a turnover.

Not sure if you all have seen the article on the RFC website, but Dan Butler talks about how the coaches have told the small forwards that their focus is on pressuring the opposition - with goals and disposals a bonus.

Castagna had 19 pressure acts on Friday night, with Rioli 16 and Butler 13. Clearly they are all playing their roles in the coaches eyes. No change for mine.

He won't be dropped this year but he does fumble a lot. Will need to fix that next year to survive Bolton and Stengle. That said I hope he does and nailed his set shot when it counted.

good call Rancey

Clearly a weak link and upgradable, good thing is we have enormous depth in this area.

I'd drop him, he's been pretty ineffective for about 5 or so weeks now.

We have a vfl side full of guys putting their hand up in Stengle, Bolton, Lloyd.

I'd play Lloyd.
Yep, I'm up for Lloyd as well.

Only change.

He did fumble early but got better as the game went on. His repeat effort handball to Butler for a goal sums him up. Will be better for the run.

Castagna hasn't had to many bonuses of late. I do agree though I can't see him being dropped unless it was for a like for like, which means either Bolton or Stengle and at this stage I am not sure they are mature enough yet.

I think you're overestimating JCs output and underestimating Lloyds.

Last night JC had 6 disposals at 50% DE (but 5 turnovers...don't know how when you have 5 turnovers from 6 disposals you get 50% but anyway).

He laid 4 tackles and had 0 1%ersers and 19 pressure acts.

I still think we would get better output from Lloyd or Bolton or Stengle.

Bolton and Stengle with time we will get better output.

Lloyd is a different type, he's slower, a better mark but less pressure. Pressure is the most important part of our game at the moment and George is the best at that right now. Sure his fumbling is annoying but his pressure without doubt creates opportunities for others.

Exactly!

Bolton is very exciting ... but he is not ready.

Let him learn what he needs to learn in the 2s and bring him back in next year.

I think what George brings is more important to the team for this finals series.

Yep, three better versions of Stevie Morris playing small forward. They're usually good for easily half a dozen shots n three goals between them each game while also creating opportunity for other team mates to score as well by locking the ball in our forward half n forcing oppo turn overs. Between them their causing massive head aches for oppo coaches n players because they have to restructure their sides to match us n they never know who's going to pop up n score. Reckon they're a big reason why Towner was able to sneak in n smash the score in his first few games.
This is not about the performance of the individual it's the sum output of the collective n it's been a massive positive this year.

Dropping George would affect the F50 as a whole.

The net, trapping the ball, referred pressure, leading options, etc.

Yes, George had a mare offensively. Fumbled, turned it over, was overwhelmed by the occasion.

But he's less expendable than a Markov type in my opinion. He's big, string, committed, tenacious, bloody quick.

Tough call, but for me he stays.

We're winning and winning well. He's a part of the defensive work that sets us up.

Exactly, and the coaches have all of them drinking the kool-aid that the pressure is more important than their offensive game. You can't run that line without selection following suite. George's defensive acts and contests are high, while that stays that way he's in the teams

The team is winning but they're carrying George.
The team is winning as a result of the huge amount of pressure we are putting on the opposition. Of which George plays a major part in.

I realise they have roles in that front half to apply blow torch Liike pressure to create the turnovers and George is doing thatlart well, however I'm concerned that his talent limitations have been exposed with the higher intensity , too often he is fumbling loose balls . Good sides will make us pay with those stuff ups . I would seriously consider Bolton , I watched him closely at Ressies and his defensive work is excellent with the added bonus that he is a live wire alroumd a loose ball . Short or miles could also be considered
