Welcome to Tigers: Jason Castagna

The guys VFL form has not even been good it is mind boggling how he keeps getting a game. He has played maybe one and a half good seasons and keeps getting a contract reminds me of How Nick daffy kept getting big contract even though he really only played a couple of good seasons
Who would you have picked ahead time f Castagna for this game?

Yeah George needs specific focus on his kicking under pressure at training and it’s an indictment on the forward line coach and George that this hasn’t been done.

Is it me, or has he lost some of his pace and athleticism?

Go back to the 2019 Grand Final which was peak Castagna. Absolutely shredded GWS with his run and agility on his way to 20 disposals and 0.5. His decision making and execution have always been poor but he compensated somewhat by being extremely athletic and lightning quick. Now he appears to have lost that somewhat and his poor skills and decision making have not improved to compensate.

George has always been the almost moments guy. All these almost moments in a game add together to give him another game next week. Rinse and repeat.

The question I ask is why hasn't this goal kicking approach routine been addressed at training.
If you can put yourself through rewatching the last quarter, compare Jack's routine when snapping around the corner. He locks eyes on the target like a shark. Then see George's routine and he's looking at the opposition goals when he moves off the mark. Bolton does it too. How is it not addressed at training?

Will be hilarious (or maybe not) to see the blow ups if he gets selected again this week - which I think is very possible.

Do we need to get Georgie security ?:ROFLMAO:

Security?
poor guys wouldn’t know where he’s heading
Itd be a day trip for him to reach MCG on match days he’d be all over Melbourne and he’d take several hours after the game to finally get home

If we,re injury hit i honestly think he's a huge chance of playing.

Nope, George kicks the goal we are 23 points up with three minutes left. That’s the game right there.

Nothing after that matters.

Agree we go 23 points up with 5.50 left on the clock game over, but ill also add, with 3.45 left on the clock Short gives a 50-meter penalty to Rowell who goals (reduces the margin to 11 points), no need to touch the ball as we were 17 points up, and no way Rowell kicks a goal from the centre wing.
We still win it from here being 3 goals up if short doesn't give the 50 away. But as you said Castagna is the main culprit because if he kicks the goal we go 4 goals up and whatever happens after won't affect the result of the game.

Having watched the last 6 mins countless times there are at least 6 moments where one of these moments goes our way we win. Heartbreaking loss, I cant stop thinking about it.

George puts in 100% effort each week so it's unfair having a go at him.

Him being selected each week says more about Dimma and the MC than it does about George. It's a complete mystery to me as even his vfl form was poor and the perceived pressure he applies is non existent so I have no idea what the coaches see.

How's he gettting home? I would put him in the back of a cattle truck, all he is fit for. That was hard watching that live. AFL should of given us Tiges free grog to witness that.

Dimma won't drop him
Probably right. Georgie likely gets another game because he got himself four or five goal scoring opportunities n that's what you need to do as a small forward. Pity he didn't manage to do anything with those opportunities.

Bit bloody sad isn't it?
Six minutes to go n Georgie *smile* up the match winning goal by being incompetent.
Four minutes to go n Shorty gifts the oppo a game saving chance by being a *smile* wit.

Georgie deserves to be dropped to the magoos for being incompetent while Shorty deserves to be dropped to the magoos for being a *smile* wit. Doubt that either will happen, but there's a good chance that both happening would make us a better team in the long run.

I'm sad for 3 time premiership player George.

I hate bagging our players, but I find George so frustrating. A player in his mid 20's he should be getter better, but he isn't.

As we all know, yesterday wasn't a one off, he didn't just have a bad day.

His goal kicking has got petrified, he didn't know what to when he was running into the open goal.

I don't know, it can't be denied that he has a fair dinkum crack.............perhaps play him on a wing in the VFL for the rest of the season and see what happens. Dan Rioli's move to the back flank come to mind.

Just please keep him out of the forward line.

on principle how can you forgive him for not taking the shot from 35m out in the clear. That's the issue......I would put anyone in instead of George just on principle. but hey he may play and kick 3 goals. Thats George.
