Welcome to Tigers: Jason Castagna

How many times was he pinned "holding the ball"?
Good leg speed. Gets to good spots.
Needs to convert better, but overall a good game

I think he is a bit stiff Zips. He attacks the ball with speed and he is really clean and umps seem to think he has prior opportunity even though he has had for a split second. The one is the first was a classic example. He tried to dispose at the earliest opportunity and I think it was a handball anyway.

It is something he and the coaches will need to work out coz it's likely to be a problem. Perhaps a chat with the umps wont hurt.

Still, Jason will need to think of a quick handball as soon as his hands are clear.

I've said before he is the closest to Kingy we've had since he's gone. Speed and physicality. Kingy was a better goal assist player and better user. Castagna might be a better goal scorer.

20 touches, 10 contested and 2 goals 4 would've been one of King's best ever games.

Castagna did it in game 6.

Damn good game by George. If he'd converted at 4.2 instead of 2.4 he'd have been challenging Dusty for BOG honours.

Just wondering ( cough cough musta been around 1980 ) when was the last time we had a forward line that contained a genuine mosquito fleet feeding off a couple of quality key forwards.

It's only one game in but to kick twenty goals when several elite players had quiet nights and our two key forwards were no more than role players, hints at some very exciting n unpredictable possibilities.

Castagna has put on 3.5kgs in the off season, by sight. He's furnished. Because he's explosive he punches above his weight. We'd been coaching him to be more outside in the magoos. But he can hit now.

He was the revelation on Thursday. He was *smile* awesome. Quantum improvement. I know it was only Carlton but - Whoa.

Where the *smile* is the Baron?

Where are ya, Baron? Are you still watching Castagna porn?

*smile*. We've got something here.

PS that HTB was *smile*. Legacy of that megalamutt Demitriou.

PPS George is a 3.2 man or a 2.3 when he can get into the game. 2.4 was ok.

Was a livewire thats for sure but lacks a lot of class to finish off his work. Very sloppy and average descision making at Times.

Enjoying the George porn Captain B.

Two years ago we knew he had a quick mind, could dance like Astaire and simply loved gettin' busy.

Now, as you say, there's solidity about him.

Let's talk about Leppa. Has he lit a fire of inspiration under George, Jeeves and Rioli or what?

This is manic footy. Positive footy that rewards skill and enterprise. Love our forward line at the moment.

At the VFL I always loved watching McBean and George because they just seemed so intelligent, so quick-minded with ball in hand.

One's gone, me other lad remains. I couldn't be more rapt for the boy.

Even though his efforts didn't quite come together last night, still love him in the side. Worries opposition, unpredictable, takes the game on.

'Chaos' Castagna.

Thought he was a bit of a non event actually. Might be one who's spot comes under scrutiny.

He has some short term credits after his good pre season form and very good game against Carlton last week.

But he had a shocker last night and butchered it all night. He wouldn't want another game like that or he will be back in the VFL pretty quickly based on what happened to Lloyd and McIntosh this week.

He was ok. He at least tries to break open the game. With time and some extra kgs he will be cheap running mid.
He has done nothing wrong

Good. They should all be on that deal. That's how teams are built.

hes a footballer for sure, again involved in lots of our scoring chains
I'll say he'll be the best of the small forwards. I think Rioli will play a fair bit of time in the middle.

I fear he might be a left-footed Nahas -- has the raw speed, just not quite skillful and agile enough, and way too one-sided for a smaller bloke.

To be honest imo i think he is a bit overated by many on here, i admit to being against the grain a little when it comes to George.

I think he lacks skill, poise and makes poor decisions, gets caught a lot with the footy and turns it over a lot with skill errors.

Cost the Tigers 3 direct attacks on goal last night with skill errors.

That's probably why he wasn't taken in the main draft.

The kid has guts, cracks in, has speed and has a red hot go but i don't know if hes got enough to be a consistent reliable performer especially at the senior level.

He could very well find himself out of the side if he has another game like last night.
