Welcome to Tigers: Jason Castagna

they dont need 20 touches (Butler, Castangna, Rioli). but gee if all 3 play they better pile on the pressure (as you would expet the other 19 to also follow suit).

A good game for all 3 would looke like

Castagna - 9 kicks - 3 hb - 4 tackles 1.1
Rioli - 11 kicks - 2hb - 5 tackles 2.0
Butler 7 kicks - 2hb - 3 tackles 1.1

If we get 4 goals and a few assists from these 3 that it SHOULD be a good night.... Assuming Jack-Griff- Lloyd can kick multiples and our much publicised mids that go forward can kich a few too. Dusty, Cocth (please snap all your goals captain) and Caddy.

Be nice if the likes of Conca and B Ellis can reacquaint themselves with a few 6 points too in 2017

I am assuming he is updraded for hammer.

Probably holding off on second upgrade to see how cholly and soldo go and whether we have injuries in ruck or key forwards.

I think he has actually replaced Yarran, so he will be on the list for the whole season. The AFL have allowed us to treat the Yarran situation as if we are one short on the senior list. Whoever replaces Hampson will only be upgraded as long as Hampson is on the long-term list.

There is no point in upgrading a player to take Hampson’s place unless that player is going to be selected in the senior team that week because the Hampson replacement can be upgraded at any time.

The “one short” rookie upgrade has to happen before round 1 or the opportunity is lost.

Questionable skills and I'm being generous there also seems slow of mind and looks to be a poor decision maker, holds footy too long and gets caught with it too much.

Does have a go is hard at it and has turn of foot but apart from that I'm not convinced.

Battler with some pace.

Think that assessment is a bit harsh. He really put his body on the line and won some really tough ball (had 3rd most contested possies) and umps were hot on him even though he was the playmaker. Kicked 2 goals 4, should have been 4 goals 2 and a goal assist. And only his 6th game. I liked him a lot, will only improve.

2:4 is a good return for a small forward of his experience. 4.2 would have been better. But justified his rookie upgrade tonight.

top game.

I hope he doesnt curtail the lairizing and trying to do to much.

Good game. Needs to be more selfish when he has the ball near goal.

along with butler and rioli, we have pretty exciting bunch of small fowards...it was these kids that made all the difference tonight..meanwhile down the other end of the ground we the same old clumsy clowns...castagna was very good

We will be lucky to get 25 touches between those three. One too many small forwards who can't play midfield.

Also it will force Lloyd into the midfield when he's better than any of them up forward by a mile. Don't like it. Hope I'm wrong.

Give me an extra midfielder. Collingwood spanked us in the midfield without Pendles.

49 disposals and 6 goals between the 3 of them. They did well.

Mark Maclure gave Martin 3, Murphy 2, Castagna 1.

Should've really got 4.2...really pleased. Did more than about 100 of Shanks games.
