Welcome to Tigers: Jason Castagna

The young fella can play a bit. He's keen for the contest, which is great. Didn't seem at all over-awed. I watch his progress with interest.

Great game, livewire, could have easy had 5 goals.
Agree :clap. Important part of a revitalised and dangerous small forward setup...Castagna, Rioli, Butler, Edwards, Lloyd, with support from Martin, Prestia, Caddy. Based on tonight's game our small forward tackling pressure is a delight to see and we will worry a lot of teams with defensive turnovers.

Needs to convert and make these games stand out. It'll only take a 0.4 performance with some of the other mistakes he made to find himself back at VFL.

Really needs to ensure he nails these opportunities so the selectors can't find an excuse to drop him for a player like star jumps.

The ball just keeps coming to him. A little composure which will come in time and he will be a dangerous player for all opposition

How many times was he pinned "holding the ball"?
Good leg speed. Gets to good spots.
Needs to convert better, but overall a good game

18 pressure acts, 2nd most for the Tigers. He kicks a couple he normally would get with his eyes closed and you'd call it the complete game. Hopefully he can back up next week against tougher opposition.

Chaotic player. Bit like a pinball up forward & thought he made a lot of stuff happen in our favour simply by being everywhere. He got right up in the Blues defenders grill.
Massive upgrade on Steve Morris but reckon Stengle & Bolton will be snapping at his heels..

Agree here TOT. He was manic with a brain.

He and Butler have brought intensity and speed into our forward line. We have been quite dour in forward 50 for a couple of years, hopefully these two with DR will bring a lot of panic to oppo backlines. Love what they showed

Created something out of nothing a lot of the time.

He made a fair few Blues players hear footsteps.

He also loves the contested ball!

If can average 1-2 goals a game that's a massive win.

Plays like Jake King.

Did alright but has to steady a bit. Tries to make things happen which is good but costly at times.

His a bit messy, but I love the fact he wants the footy in his hands, works hard with an without ball, bit of genuine footy nous about him

Jason has really never let us down. Plays with the same intensity and purpose week in week out at either level.

Remember that Hardwick dropped Castagna and brought in Morris in his spot in one of his AFL incarnations.

I am hoping that we actually start to properly develop our good youngsters by having them replace inferior players in the ones.
