People forget George has played just over 50 games and averages a goal and three tackles a game. This year his goal average is down but his possessions (14) and tackles (4.5) are at a career high. He's going OK.

But only 1 goal in his last 6 games. 8 in his last 15. Disposal efficiency worst ever this year despite his contested possessions also being the worst. Pretty clear which part of his game needs improving. Hopefully he's building up to it.

It’s funny how the narrative by the pro George crowd has evolved to him only having to bring “chaos” or just to tackle.

Setting the bar pretty low.

Nah, that's just a portion of Georgie's requirements. Yes he brings chaos n tackles, he's also required through that to bring pressure to opposition defenders and either forcing them to fumble possession and lock the ball into our forward half or cause them to *smile* up their exit disposal allowing for repeat entries into our forwards so we can work the opposition defence over and the build up of pressure and repeat entries causes the opposition to constantly rush their ball use and second guess themselves with ball in hand. That's Georgie's main role in the forward half, he's not sublimely skilled, super smart or a power KPF. He's the forward cattle dog, harrassing, barking, snapping at the heels n biting the defensive herd into doing what we want. Then on top of that role we obviously also look to him to kick some goals himself when the opportunity arises but more importantly create opportunities for the other forwards through his high pressure game.

It's become almost impossible to shut down our forward half in recent years, because of the manic high pressure game we've been playing, very rare that we have one forward dominating n kicking a large bag of goals. It's usually a matter of around 25 to 30 scoring shots for the game and 8 or 10 players all chipping in with a goal or two.

Considering he has only kicked 1 goal so far this year he is well overdue for a 3 goal game

That's why his tackle count is so high.
Surprised he can run without injuring himself, maybe that's what affects his goal kicking, swings the leg with a roundhouse action.

Credit where it's due. He sprinted 70+ metres to mark for his 2nd goal. Worked hard, had some good involvement also had some sloppies but worked his arse off.
