Welcome to Tigers: Jason Castagna

reckon caddy will get more mid time as he wanted. Centre bounce clearance will be king in 19. His big body, dishing off to the outside will be one effective midfield option hopefully.

I'm just not sure Caddy has the tank to be a permanent mid. 46 goals last year. I prefer to see him play similar to last year, forward with short stints in the midfield. He's a very dangerous forward. He is The general consensus is we do have a lot of options. Going to be very hard for the opposition to contain if we use it wisely.

So that is 2 amigos?

And the Lord spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then, shalt thou count to three. No more. No less. Three shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, nor either count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then, lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it."

With the rule changes throwing the game in a new directions, its handy having options up our sleeve.

Fwd set-up and the second ruck will be interesting as neither Jack or tom are desirable as a the swinging tall fwd/ruckman. Other sides have ready made players for that role already identified.

Selection options depending on opponent and game day flexibility as the game unfolds could be a major weapon for us if managed well!

Is he still injured or not in the best 26 ATM? I know he was on the “probable” to play on the injury list a week ago with an ankle.

honestly, i'm not sure if he's in our best 22. If you place George, Butler, Rioli and snags in a line, i would place him 4th.

They've said all along he'll be playing VFL. Conditioning probably has a lot to do with it but yeah there's significant competition for his spot. All of Higgins, Balta, Weller, Baker weren't competing for spots a couple of years ago.

Playing the VFL game this week

I would play him next week. But I question why we played him last night. Looked so rusty.

Hasn't got rid of the yips that he had last year with his set shots, he needs to get that sorted asap.

That miss is george in a nut a shell.
Unbelievably unreliable anywhere near the goals.
He looked out of sorts all night

accuracy of simple shots would have kept us in the game longer. 3 set shots we missed the produced the faithful grown . Dusty's stupid cross check kick, Catsagna's punt road end miss (20m slight angle), Markov misses early in the last (was about a 2-3 goal game), 3 shots they should not be missing at this level

Yep he is a poor shot at goal. Not ideal for a forward! May as well see if he can cut it as a lockdown small defender.
You really want George trying to bring the ball out of defence. His time is up. His style suited our 2017 game plan. Time to move on. We need smarts and skills not chaos.

Another critical miss last night ...................................Momentum Killer.

All too common and predictable, misses way too many easy goals at critical junctures in games when the Tigers need them to arrest or maintain momentum.

See the GWS loss last year for just how costly ol George can be in front of goal.

Also the one where he gave a hospital hand pass to one of his teamates who was about 2 metres away to his left. Made what should have been an easy goal much harder.
