Welcome to Tigers: Jason Castagna

Not sure in what bizarro world you would be unclear as to whether you would prefer a rising 27 yr old that has had 4 knee reconstructions over the athletic beast that is a 22 yr old Castagna.

Especially since Menzel averages less than 1 tackle a game when our whole game plan is built on pressure.

This must be a joke right?

Menzel would not get a game for Richmond.

All of which I never said. You've responded to a figment of yours or, more disturbingly, Leysy's warped mind. Just try reading back through comments carefully.

Of course I'd choose George for these reasons above (if it was only between these 2). M's career has been wrecked by those ACLs - 4!!

But, who would you want to take the kick for goal on a 45* angle, at the 50m line, on the siren, in a GF when 5 pts down?

Comparing George to Daniel 'Turnstiles' Menzel?

I'd prefer George.

No. Another who fell for it. Did George perform a unique and brilliant role as our CHF today? Try that.

Oh my lord. You aren’t still debating the worth of Menzal. That’s a new low even by your standards.

Phew! HDL's followers (your lord?). Hey, it was his reference! Must be his standards then.

Rory Laird torched us and I think George was his direct opponent for much of the night. But agree, opposition drive from their back half is always disrupted by our pressure.

Spot any contradiction herein?

george had a flat spot this time last year.

I think the MC will handle it in a similar fashion.

Mmmm. How many more apologies do you have left? Looks like JC wasn't so extraordinary today (that's been mine and Bullus" main point). It's probably best not to pump up a young player's tyres too early perhaps. He'll come back strongly over the final 2 games I reckon.

Anyway, at least you showed up tonight.

Whatever way we look at it Georgie needs to find more goal scoring form, especially with Butler out at the moment, Georgie’s boot could be the difference between a win an a loss in a Prelim

Jason Castagna might be the worst footballer on our list (Soldo a challenger). But he's our best CHF (when Jack's busy kicking 16 at FF).

He's an enigma, wrapped in a riddle, wrapped in a still misunderstood game plan, wrapped in a mid 70's perm.

I both hate and love watching him. Never have I seen a player with so little feel for how to deal with a football, so critical to a team's football.

Until we can get a CHF with aerial presence, tackle pressure, elite endurance running, an intrinsic understanding of chaos, as well as clean hands, footskills and a brain, Castagna plays, and does so with confidence he won't be dropped. The first five are prerequisites for the job the next three are gravy.

Pee him off. Got smashed by Hanley most of the day
Wasn't Hanley off with a hammy for half the game?
Maybe Georgie was just dragging his opponent away from the contest all day so Jaaack could get his lolly bag filled with noms.

Wow Castagna only 11 pressure acts for the game, the worst in the team. Sounds like he cracked the sads, that's the only way he could have had so few.

No chance IMO ToO. Brandon and KMac are 21st and 22nd I reckon.
Yes I agree with this.

if no injuries and all on the park, 3 players are fighting for 1 position. Reece, Kmac & Brandon.

Some still can't see Georges worth to the team? They must be from the Chris Scott school of thought.

He's fringe. If Butler gets back, he might be the one who makes way.

That seems the obvious choice, Higlet's arrival has made things a whole lot more complicated for George. He definitely needs to have a strong finish over the next fortnight.
