Welcome to Tigers: Jason Castagna

Panic in front of goals. Lost us the match. Has to learn from that.

His kicking for goal is embarrassing, but it is every week. I suppose the positive is he got more of the ball.

He thought it was festivus. I still love him, at least he can find it.

The problem is when he finds space instead of running directly at goal he goes at right angles and snaps the ball. Needs to learn to face the goals when he's kicking for goal

Terrible.

Most of us feared that his goal kicking would cost us a big game one day and tonight was it.

I posted last week, I saw him before the Crows game practising his kicking for goal from 50m. He bloody walks in and tries to kick it off about 6 or 7 walk not even a canter steps. This is his problem, no momentum so he has no balance so the ball goes god damn anywhere. Gee this is not hatd, run in get your balance, guide the ball onto your boot and kick through the ball. You should go at about 70-75% if you are within a reasonable range and angle. These kids thes days go at about 50% or less because they’ve got all these stupid illogical routines. Have a look at Shorty, guy just keeps it simple and bang, sweet as.

Look forward to the Giants’ giving Castagna a gatorade shower before they sing the song.

Started from his first miss and then turned into a horror night. The worse one was when he was clear inside 50 and he totally screwed it

That's the complicated analysis. The simple is he's a cr@p shot at goal and always has been. He was no better with running and snap shots. Bad decision maker.

George showed us the big difference between himself and Dan Butler tonight

He must be <20% for easy shot conversion when the game is in the balance. He kicks ones that are tough and also when the game is over. In general play he kicks them more so when he doesn’t have time and space. All of these are when the consequence of missing is low.

When he should kick it he pretty much never does. Witness tonight’s disaster when he was by himself at fifty and could have taken two bounces and he stuffed one of the bounces up and I think it ended up out of bounds. Didn’t even register a score on that one.

Has to be predominantly mental as smells of Novotna like levels of choking. Really, really needs to sort it out as clearly can get to the right spots almost better than any.
