Welcome to Tigers: Jason Castagna

He was a better CHF than Todd Elton and Ivan Soldo.

Now that's funny. Imagine being kept out of the team by a guy who's not even 6 foot tall.

And imagine what we'd be saying if either Elton or Soldo managed to kick over 20 goals in a year!

30 games, 21 years old. 50 games is when good players take off. What he does now is solid at worst, good at best. If he can improve even 10-20%, fumbles at pace, dropped marks, missed sodas, he will be a star. The probability of that happening is higher than it not happening IMO.

Spot on. Come on George!

Sausage, Geezer n Georgie still got it all in front of them. They're all still toddlers when it comes to football experience. So many young players who've barely done their playing apprenticeships yet all shown to have quality tools to work with.

Speed Thrills

opposition teams panic when george is running around - I like that

21 years old and 30 games - Do we really expect him to be perfect at this stage ?

I think George is going fine and will only get better

Lloyd ahead of Bolton on form at this stage...

Hindsight is a great thing.

Against GWS he was truly deplorable. I'm amazed he wasn't dropped for GF.

The rest is history (as they say).

He played okay - and will forever be a Premeirship player (and a TIGER at that!!) but he's the first guy to struggle to hold his position in 2018 (IMHO)

He needs to work on his handling skills over the summer. Or just get better hand grip .
He was so close on many occasions on taking a mark but just fumbled it to the ground.
If he improves his ball skills including handballing we will have a real X factor in the forward line.
Who are you and what have you done with the real Zippadee?

Watch the first quarter again. He was in everything.

His role is crucial and it's not just about his speed, his tank is huge as well. And as others have noted, his ability to bring the ball to ground is phenomenal for a guy his size.

I'm an unabashed fan of Georgie boy. He's not our best, but he's a premiership player and a Richmond immortal now.

And to see him leading the pack in pre-season shows how hungry he is for more.

Yep I like him as well, he only needs to improve a little next year to go the next level which i’m Confident he will. He’s just manic in that forward line, which I reckon upsets defences.

That could equally have described Nahas at the same stage.

NO-ONE will be taking Georgie boy's spot round 1, just finished watching last training session and George has been the absolute star of pre-Christmas training for me. Pantsing his running machine best mate Buttler in the running, clean grabbing everything in the air. If the boy's had a bet as to who would be pre-season king it might be Buttler's turn to have a little Georgie running man tattooed on his cheek ;D

Great to hear Ceaser. He is doing a Lambert and getting everything out of himself. These boys are making rookie-picks fashionable!

Seems like a pretty apt name for George. Here's hoping it's other team's on the receiving end.
